Today we’d like to introduce you to Anna and Bert Montero.
Over a year ago, we started thinking about opening a new business and build something for our growing family. Anna was always passionate about coffee and was dreaming about having her own place. Bert as a Native Miamian knowing Kendall area very well quickly realized there is no really good coffee places In the neighborhood and started thinking about his wife’s idea as a great business opportunity.
Anna Coming from Europe wanted to bring a little bit of European Vibes to Kendall which is saturated with Cuban bakery’s and cafes . The idea was to create a place where people can not only buy coffee and food but to create a space where people can come relax with their friends or families or get some work done.
While we were searching for the location we saw a new mall being build right next to our house. We see how much this area has grown within the last few years and how much potential is here. People from Kendall deserve high end and gourmet products close by so they don’t need to be driving far to get them or to spend a good time. We here for the community and wish the community will appreciate all the hard work and effort we put in to build this place.
The whole process took us about a year from opening a corporation to opening our doors to the public.
We opened our door at March 16th, 2019 and those last few months we have been working hard to satisfy our customers and fulfill their needs. As a new business we still growing and changing but we proud to say that we already established wide range of loyal everyday customers that are in love with our products.
We work with all the local vendors and local coffee roaster Great Circle coffee making sure we get best quality freshly roasted beans every time we brew our coffee. We also offer a variety of pastries, desserts, sandwiches, quiches and breakfast treats.
We treat our customers like friends and family, making each visit personal. Trying to create a heart of the neighborhood that was missing in this area.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been easy.
Starting from hidden charges every corner while building the space and also people not getting their work done on time.
Opening a new business is always stressful and full of challenges.
Tell us more about the business. What should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We serve variety of drinks. Coffee, tea, etc.
Our most popular specialty drinks are
White Chocolate Rose Latte
Pistachio Matcha
And The Dirtiest Chai
What sets us apart from others is that we treat our customers like a family making sure we memorize as many names and faces as possible.
We proud to won a 2nd place in the Midtown Miami Magazine for locals guide to best coffee shops in Miami being open for only four months at that time. We believe is a huge achievement standing there next to all other great coffee shops that are already established in Miami.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Our proudest moment was the day we opened our door and our dreams came into reality.
Also being recognized by people of Miami as one of the best coffee shops in town.
