Today we’d like to introduce you to Angel Gabriel.
Angel, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
While I was going to university for special effects Makeup & Wig making, I knew that I was destined to work in fashion. I left school and start an interning at a modeling agency on South Beach while freelancing for a Tom Ford beauty counter. Taking in every bit of fashion knowledge and fashion business knowledge I could while working at the agency, it opened many doors and introduced me to many colleagues in the industry and I started to develop my portfolio. I also began to build my network and started assisting on jobs with like with fashion icons like Bruce Weber, Carine Roitfeld, Tom Pecheux and countless others.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a professional makeup artist hasn’t always been glamorous it can be incredibly challenging dealing with strong personalities and the uncertainty of where your next paycheck is coming from. so I would say I absolutely love what I do.
Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about you and your career so far?
So I would definitely say that I specialize in soft natural glam and commercial makeup. I love making people feel beautiful but still look like themselves. I would definitely say I enhance natural features making my model or clients feel like the best version of themselves without having to hide anything.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I would say the most important quality is definitely having a good personality. I only surround myself with good people with fantastic energy who are kind because that’s what I want to exude.
