Today we’d like to introduce you to Amaranta Martinez.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Amaranta. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My name is Amaranta and I’m a Visual Artist from Venezuela based in Miami. After many years in the animation, TV and film world I decided to move on and pursue my love for art and illustration. I ventured out and started my own personal project called THESUPERAMA.
Since then I have worked in many different mediums and projects around the world. I have had numerous group and solo exhibitions locally and internationally. You can see my work in murals, ceramics, books, magazines, clothes and toys. Murals are my favorite thing to do. I love to have murals around Miami, the city where I live. You can see some of my street art in Wynwood, Downtown, Midtown and public schools.
My other favorite thing to do is collaborations with designers and artists. My favorite collab so far has been with a Fashion Designer from Germany called Lin Art Fashion. Our clothes was seen on Steve Aoki, Keri Wilson, Heidi Klum and Theophilus from London.
Inspired by my 3 year old twins, my background working for many kids brands and after working as an Art Director for Nickelodeon for many years, I decided I wanted to make something educational and beautiful for my kids. So I partnered up with a couple of friends and created a preschool show called PIN PAN PUM. You can now see this series about values and Latin American culture in our YouTube channel or IG @pinpanpumtv
This year I decided to become a MOM BLOGGER and influencer so I started a Blog called MAMITA SIN CULPA where you can see all the fun activities I have with my twins, my favorite places to eat and work as a freelancer.
With all my projects all I want is to bring a positive message that inspires people to connect to one another. Build and share my experiences with creativity and a smile on my face ^_^
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been Ups and Downs, as it is in everything we do in life. Some moments of struggle and doubt but always overcoming and keeping focused to achieve a successful career. I’m happy and grateful that as an illustrator and as a mom, that I have done some many different and creative things. I could have never imagined that I was going to be able to achieve. And there are many things and projects to come and that keeps me excited and motivated.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about THE SUPER AMA – what should we know?
I can say that I have 2 companies, or maybe 3 hehe. THE SUPER AMA is my artistic side, where I make murals, design clothes, illustrate books, etc. PIXELHANGAR is a company that I opened with my husband 8 years ago, where we do post-production, motion graphics, graphic design and animation for Channels like Nickelodeon, Discovery Kids, Disney and companies like Viacom, Nike, SONY, and Chips Ahoy amongst others.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Hard work and positive energy. I’m always trying to bring a positive message in everything that I do.
