Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Fogarty.
Amanda, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I’m a photographer and multi-passionate creative. I photographed my first wedding when I was in high school and have been creating genuine, romantic and beautiful wedding photography for the past six years.
My natural approach allows me to capture heartfelt moments through a genuine experience and create images that are as timeless and authentic as my client’s love.
Although I’m based in Maine, I love to travel and Florida (especially Miami area). My fiancee and I first visited during Spring Break in college and have been back to photograph weddings and explore the area while there.
Has it been a smooth road?
I feel extremely grateful that I found and pursued my passion at such a young age. I never thought I wanted to take my photography business full time. However, finishing college and working in the corporate world for a few years I realized that it wasn’t for me.
The journey to making that leap to full-time self-employment is never easy. However, after my Dad unexpectedly passed away, it forced me to think about my life in a new way.
I realized how incredibly short our time is here and I didn’t want to spend another second doing something that I wasn’t completely passionate about. He is the reason I was able to take the leap. And although it was a difficult time in my life, it also gave me a lot of purpose and direction.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the A.Fogarty Photography story.
As I mentioned before, I’m a photographer and multi-passionate creative. I specialize in Maine and destination weddings as well as portrait photography for families, newborns, and motherhood.
My work can be described as genuine & romantic as well as light & airy. Connecting with my clients on a deeper level that allows me to capture the big and small moments of their life is what I’ most proud of. I believe the experience that I’m able to deliver on top of the quality of images is what sets me apart from others.
Although photography is my full-time career, I also own another company called Posh + Walker. P+W is a thoughtful gifting company that sells curated and custom gift boxes. We also host thoughtful gifting workshops where we team up with locals to provide a unique experience to our community. We are passionate about helping others gift more thoughtfully in their business and in their life.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
The wedding industry is continuously changing. However, I think quality photography will always remain a priority for couples.
