Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra Martinez
Hi Alexandra, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Born in Miami, Florida, but raised in Venezuela, I experienced a unique blend of cultures that shaped my perspective. In 2012, I returned to Florida, ready for a new chapter.
My professional journey began in the medical field, where I worked as a medical office manager. However, life had other plans. After being diagnosed with thyroid cancer, I reevaluated my priorities and sought a new challenge.
That’s when my partner Tony, with his entrepreneurial spirit and faith in my potential, invited me to partner with him on his second restaurant venture. I took the leap of faith, and together we’ve built a thriving business.
As we grew our restaurant, I discovered a new passion for social media marketing. My best friend Johanna introduced me to the world of social media, and later, I met Lesly Martinez (@cubanbabiieats), an incredible creator and social media manager who became a close friend and mentor.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road? Absolutely not! As an entrepreneur and influencer, I’ve faced numerous challenges.
Initially, transitioning from the medical field to the restaurant industry was daunting. Learning about food, operations, and customer service was a steep curve.
One of the biggest struggles was overcoming self-doubt and imposter syndrome. Questioning whether I was truly cut out for this new venture was a constant battle.
Additionally, balancing family life, business responsibilities, and social media demands has been tricky. Finding quality time for my children, Arianna and Aidan, and maintaining a healthy relationship with Tony, my partner, requires intentional effort.
Of course, the cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment were significant setbacks. However, they also sparked resilience and determination.
In the social media realm, navigating ever-changing algorithms, criticism, and comparison has been challenging. Staying focused on my message and engaging with authentic supporters has helped.
Despite these obstacles, I’ve learned valuable lessons:
1. Embrace uncertainty and adapt.
2. Surround yourself with supportive people.
3. Prioritize self-care and mental well-being.
4. Stay true to your vision and values.
These struggles have shaped me into a stronger, more empathetic entrepreneur and influencer.

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up, I was a vibrant and curious child. Born in Miami but raised in Venezuela, I was exposed to a rich cultural heritage that shaped my personality and interests.
Personality-wise:
1. I was always a determined and strong-willed individual.
2. I had a passion for helping others, often volunteering at local charities.
3. I was a natural performer, loving music, dance, and theater.
Interest-wise:
1. I was fascinated by business and entrepreneurship, even starting small ventures as a teenager.
2. I enjoyed exploring the outdoors, hiking, and swimming.
3. I was drawn to fashion, beauty, and lifestyle.
My grandparents on my mother’s side played a significant role in my upbringing. They instilled in me the importance of family and unconditional love. Despite my biological father being in and out of my life, they provided stability and a true sense of belonging.
When my mother married my stepfather, who later adopted me, I finally experienced a complete and loving family unit. His unwavering support and presence have been invaluable.
Life has presented its challenges since I can remember, but I’ve learned to face them head-on:
1. Resilience: Overcoming adversity and finding strength in my support system.
2. Gratitude: Appreciating the love and lessons from my grandparents and stepfather.
3. Optimism: Choosing happiness despite life’s ups and downs.
These values have shaped me into the person I am today:
1. Bilingual and bicultural, with a deep appreciation for diversity.
2. Resourceful and determined, with a growth mindset.
3. Passionate about family, community, and entrepreneurship.
My restaurant’s concept reflects these values:
1. Authentic Greek cuisine, a culinary passion project with my partner Tony, who brings his Lebanese flair to the table.
2. Warm hospitality, mirroring my grandparents’ love.
3. Community-driven, fostering connections and memories.
Life’s challenges may continue, but I won’t let them define me. Instead, I’ll keep spreading joy, love, and positivity
