Alcolya is currently running for Circuit Court Judge, Group 13 in Palm Beach County. She began her career more than 14 years ago as a Senior Attorney with the State of Florida Department of Children and Families. Alcolya has owned and operated a solo practice since 2009. Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There have been many obstacles that have led to the current path. Alcolya sought judicial appointment through the Judicial Nominating Commission. While she was vetted as a finalist to be sent to Governor Rick Scott for consideration, she was not selected for appointment. This led to her seeking a judicial seat through the election process.

Alcolya is proud to be an attorney that helps the most vulnerable in our community. Much of her work is with indigent clients or with children who need representation.
