Meet Alan Gonzalez of MotorBreeze in Miami Lakes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alan Gonzalez.

Alan, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
As early as I can remember, I’ve been obsessed with cars. When I was 3 years old, I used to go everywhere with my little briefcase full of hot wheels! Fast forward a little and nothing had changed! My friends and I would frequent the race track on the weekends and there was always a project pending on one of the cars! Long before I joined the car industry, my friends and family members would always depend on me when it came time to shop for a new car! They would always ask me to help them get the best deal! After high school, I did what I was supposed to do… I went to college and graduated with a BS in Criminal Justice. Immediately after, I attended Nova Southeastern University and graduated with an MS in Forensics and Criminal Justice. Although I loved cars, I always figured that they would just be my hobby as opposed to my career.

After a couple of years in corporate America, I decided to put my degrees away and pursue the industry that I truly loved. I went to work at a car dealership and learned the ropes over a couple of years. Working in the car dealership provided me with tons of experience. After all, cars had always been my hobby, but I wasn’t well versed on the ins and outs of car dealership operations until I lived it for myself! Working at the car dealership was an eye-opener for me. Throughout my time there, the main thing that I realized was that customers walk into car dealerships to buy cars because they feel like that’s their only option. From the moment that customers walk through those front doors at car dealerships, they are miserable. They feel the pressure and they automatically assume that the personnel at the dealer is going to take advantage of them. My main takeaway from the dealership was, there has to be a better way… this is how MotorBreeze was born! I left the dealership and started MotorBreeze from the ground up along with my partner!

From the get-go, every single decision that we made at MotorBreeze was centered around one thought, “What is best for the customer?” The purpose of the company was to revolutionize the car buying process and to make it enjoyable for the customer. We wanted to create a no-pressure atmosphere, where the customer can buy or lease ANY brand new car and get the best price right up front! That’s exactly what we did! With our services, no brand is off limits! We are a one-stop shop. Our customers simply tell us the type of car that they want. We’ll locate the exact vehicle, get them the BEST deal on it and then we’ll deliver the car and paperwork directly to the customer’s home or office! When we started out, my partner and I met at a local coffee shop to discuss the plans and at that moment, we had ZERO customers. Today, we are delivering over 100 new cars per month and are on pace to gross over $1 Million this year! We learned very quickly that when you substitute the word sell with help, the rest takes care of itself!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Definitely not! When launching a new business from the ground up, it’s never easy. We were faced with tons of challenges from day 1! One of the factors that made it more difficult was that we didn’t have any investors. We had to put together a concept, plan, website, team, office, etc. and all of that was pricey! Besides the financial part of it, we were getting resistance from within the industry itself! People have been buying cars via the same broken method for decades and the attitude was, “who are these two guys to come and change it”. When going against the grain, it’s never easy, but with persistence and the right intentions, these things iron themselves out. People only see the finished product and the awesome pictures of our customers with their new cars on social media, but the reality is that there are tons of moving parts behind that. My partner and I both left solid careers (and salaries) behind to take this journey. We both have families and tons of responsibilities so we took a big leap of faith. We knew that customers would appreciate this awesome service so long as their best interest was always at heart!

Our company is a unique one. We took a process that everyone hated and fixed it! Customers who hate car dealerships (everyone) call us directly and tell us exactly which new car they are interested in! We will find them the exact car, get them the absolute BEST deal on it and then we’ll deliver the car and the paperwork directly to the customer’s home or office where they can sign on their dining room table! Our company is known for providing the BEST deals and the BEST customer service. Customers are usually blown away by the time that we are finished with the delivery process. We are very proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish so far! In a very short period of time, we’ve been able to impact one of the largest industries in the world! With that said, the thing that we are MOST proud of is that we try to help as many people as we can! I think we have done well very quickly because we TRULY have the best interest of the customer at heart! We try to help in every way that we can and that doesn’t just go for customers! We also donate a percentage of every single car that we sell directly to the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital Foundation on an ongoing basis!

What were you like growing up?
I was always a good kid. My parents have always been great role models and instilled many of the values that make me who I am today. I always got good grades and enjoyed playing sports with my friends. As far back as I can remember, cars were my passion also.
