Meet Adrienne Hilton of Glorious Tresses and Glam

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Hilton.

Adrienne, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Our company is women and minority-owned. I suffer from various chronic illnesses. One of the illnesses I suffer from is PCOS. It can truly take a toll on you physically, emotionally, and mentally. The symptoms vary with PCOS and no two people are exactly alike. One of the symptoms I struggle with and continue to struggle with is hair thinning and hair loss.

In an attempt to find alternatives to help with this, I spent so much money trying various products to try to cover this and to make myself feel good again. Other symptoms include but are not limited to chronic fatigue, growing hair in other places, excessive weight gain and so much more. Nearly every symptom that comes with PCOS I have, unfortunately. I started back using various types of extensions and wigs. I wanted to help enhance women’s natural beauty. Regardless if you suffered from a medical condition or not. My goal was to give women options to enhance their natural beauty and help reduce the time in their daily routine. It takes so much time for women to get prepared for their day. Whether you’re getting yourself ready, children ready, traveling to and from work, preparing meals, etc. Now to add the stress of a pandemic and virtual learning. That’s an entirely different beast. Our products allow women to enhance their natural beauty without taking so much time out of their day. We have products such as drawstring and velcro ponytails, wigs that can be worn glueless or with adhesive tresses that can be installed utilizing various installation methods, clip-ins and so much more.

In addition, to an extensive line of hair extensions, we also offer cosmetics such as amazing lippies. What woman doesn’t need an amazing lippie? For women who want to add lashes, we offer strip lashes. This is so much more than just hair for me. It’s about allowing myself to give to other women, create opportunities, and to build generational wealth for my son. When someone purchases something from Glorious Tresses and Glam, I’m genuinely grateful for them deciding to patronize GT&G. I’m all about quality over quantity. Our products go through a quality assurance process. We wouldn’t send out anything that we wouldn’t utilize ourselves and that’s what makes it so easy to stand behind our products 100%. To someone, this may be “a small little business” however; when you support this business you’re supporting our mission to help empower women, you’re supporting an opportunity for a child to grow and learn through extracurricular activities such as soccer, swimming, baseball lessons and so much more.

While there are so many beauty companies out there, thank you for choosing to get to know and support Glorious Tresses and Glam. Support isn’t just financial. Support can be financial but it can also be sharing a post, tagging a friend, referring a relative or friend, donating, or it could be sharing our story with people who you feel need to be made aware of our brand. Just as the beautiful person who submitted us to your company did today. This was a pleasant surprise and we’re grateful.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wish it had been a smooth road. We’ve faced several challenges. Health is the most difficult and longest challenge. We’ve also faced challenges with paying merchants for things and not receiving things. Things that should be simple. I’ve paid for a product and/or service you should deliver a product and/or service. Not so simple we’ve come to find out. Things such as getting a logo done, website complete, brand photographs, graphics, influencers and so much more. It seems as though when you’re not as big as some of the larger companies and influencers people tend to think it’s acceptable to not uphold the end of their deal or think it’s ok to treat you a certain way or not deliver things. Our initial name was Amazing Accents and we had to go through the trouble of changing our name.

After we had this name, paid for a logo to be created, had social media pages, etc. We had to change our name because someone had filed an “intent” to use the Trademark application. That was several hundred dollars down the drain because we didn’t find that out until after we were attempting to trademark our name. I always tell people don’t just go with anyone or any company. It is important to have a trademark. Be mindful of who you choose to help your company get a trademark. Try to establish a rapport with the attorney you utilize and be sure to have a comprehensive search done before you get too far into investing and before you get too attached. Even then, there still may be hiccups you face.

Glorious Tresses and Glam is a beauty company that enhances your natural beauty while saving you time in your daily routine via products. We’re known for our impeccable quality that our products have. We always get compliments on our quality. Some of our customers have had their products for years. That’s the goal. We always tell people to invest in yourselves. Yes, purchasing extensions can be an investment, however; it’s one that you do get a return on. We’re most proud of the products and the quality that we deliver while never compromising on our integrity. What sets us aside is we’re a one-stop beauty shop who delivers quality products and operate from integrity. We treat all our customers and potential customers with respect. What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
My proudest moment is when my son is packing orders and excited for our customers to get their orders. Also, when I get to see the smile on our customers’ faces when they wearing their products and they feel absolutely beautiful. The messages, the selfies, the DM’s and more just warm our hearts.
