Today we’d like to introduce you to Adan Sierra.
Adan, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Grew up on SouthBeach working at the two family businesses during the day and clubs at night from 1993 when SoBe was Just getting started. It started wearing me out in my 30s so I got a service advisor job for Maroone since I worked for Anthony Abraham briefly to try sales but went back to my roots in service. Autonation Bought Maroone And built a new store in Doral where I transferred to. While there I got an offer I could not refuse from the Garbers they purchased a Saturn Dealership across the street and wanted me to run Service for them. I said yes and went.
All though I was doing what I knew best while learning so much more, my best Friend Ariel was was working at The Collection in Coral Gables for those who don’t know, it is the most prestigious Car dealership in South Fl. I was stressing allot because GM was just pulling out of the Crash Bail our period. My store was a GMC Buick store. Ariel saw this and suggested I go work with him in Coral Gables making even more with half the stress. I very little about sales and this place has each person performing the entire deal from beginning to end so it was very difficult to get in much less succeed. I made the jump and was a very successful winning award after award including the highest achiever, that is pretty much salesman of the year.
In my seventh year there, I received a phone call from a great guy and friend Oren. He was the comptroller at my last job, turns out he had ventured in his own running a dealer in Miami and one in palm beach. He had now made a partner with one of the largest groups in the country. He offered me a Management position in Sales at University Mitsubishi. It was far from my home in Miami but well worth the trip. Of course, I accepted this position over two years ago and never till this day have I ever regretted this for one second. I don’t know with this group buying store after store how far this will go but although I will always miss the parties and the incredible people of The Collection I feel at home and very stable in every way imaginable here in Davie at University Mitsubishi where we break our own records and the companies records on a monthly basis. Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Struggles make you stronger and better . Changing careers sounds like a scary thing but honestly, I started so young not stressing anything I know everything about cars you can ever learn and having the nerve to believe no one else has the experience I have no matter what position they hold. The people that never gave me a shot where the ones who made me move myself.
Please tell us about University Mitsubishi.
I am very proud of this company and everybody I work with. You are not held back only pushed forward and given respect, trust, and all the tools needed for success. We have the number one price on any car we sell in the entire country. Just go online and test it. People call us from California and Hawaii to buy a unit from us. We back each other up in every deal and invest personal attention in every single customer no matter their credit score or budget. This is Old school business nothing more. Seems simple but who else this large in the Car business is doing it!
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
Surfing when the weather is bad and fishing when the weather is good Has been pretty much my entire life as a child. I grew up the day I visited a nightclub for the first time but that is an entire other books. Lol
