Life & Work with Reey Yadin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Reey Yadin.

Hi Reey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thank you for having me! I’m a strategy consultant that entered the Miami real estate industry, a nature and adventures seeker, and a people person. I arrived in Canada at 22 with a few dollars in my pocket and big dreams and worked my way up in different industries. My path has recently led me to Miami and to develop a real estate brand that is the bridge to Miami for all foreign nationals with an emphasis on Canadians who are looking to purchase real estate in Miami.

How did you get the idea for Toronto Miami Group? What inspired you to open your company?
The idea behind Toronto Miami Group came from my many winter escapes to Miami from Toronto during the harsh Canadian winters, and from the changes Covid brought about to the world. Anyone who lives in Canada – or in any other cold place – knows the pain of long tiring winters. The idea of going outside in sub-zero temperatures when the winds are howling, and the snow is flying is unthinkable and keeps us indoors and sun-deprived for much of the year. It was a depressing notion for someone who loves being active and outdoors. I found myself in that spot for about 7 years while living in Toronto and was growing increasingly restless. During the last few years, I found myself seeking refuge in Miami come January and February to escape the bitter cold. The idea of going from -20° to +30° with just a short 3-hour flight separating the two was complete relief from the freezing winter and a sort of an epiphany. So, when the pandemic hit and Canada shuttered itself into a lockdown, my role with an LA-based fintech company was in a remote mode, so I decided to follow the sun – and my heart – and set up my virtual office in Miami, during the winter months.

But besides the cold weather, my decision was also affected by my property search in Toronto. I was looking to buy a condo in Toronto as an investment property and realized that I would have to contribute a significant amount of money out of pocket each month just to keep the place afloat. It didn’t really make sense to invest in a rental property that was upside-down financially. So, between the seemingly endless cold weather in Toronto, ridiculously expensive real estate, and the harsh Covid restrictions imposed in Canada, it became a very simple decision to make. These factors opened my eyes to the freedom that Miami offers and helped me to make my move toward a happier life.

Once down here, I couldn’t help but think there were more like-minded people out there who wished for a better lifestyle, from Toronto, and from other places as well. That planted the seeds for Toronto Miami Group and the possibilities it presented. I have always been driven by helping others, and making a positive impact in people’s lives. I knew that in creating a one-stop shop for those looking for a similar change in their life or for more lucrative property investment opportunities, Toronto Miami Group could be positioned as a bridge to South Florida’s real estate and a channel for a more rewarding life.

It was during the purchase process when I realized that it is not a simple or easy process, there was not one company that specialize in the foreign national buying process and I had many challenges to face- which ultimately, pushed me to open a company that solves it and paves the way for a simple buying process, a one-stop shop, for all those who wish to buy real estate down here.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Making a move to Miami was very positive but it was not exactly a smooth road. Buying a property and setting it up as vacation rental in Miami sounds like a simple task, but when you are new in the city and you need to juggle between your work, construction, lawyers, designing the place and much more, that setup can become very challenging. As hard and complicated as it was, I’m happy I did it because now I got the chance to use what I learned with others, so they won’t have to go through this messy process themselves.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
TMG, as the bridge to Miami, is set to help foreign buyers with their journey of buying real estate in Miami or moving down here. From searching and finding the right property, helping with financing, closing, renovating, and furnishing all the way to setting up their Airbnb and managing it for them, so they could maximize profits when they are not using their property

What sets me apart from others is my diverse background and the genuine & trustworthy approach I bring to every situation. I am happy to say that people have trusted me with the most important day in their lives (I managed more than 100 weddings by the age of 24), with their businesses and with their lives, and now it is only natural for me to be in the space where people can trust my team and me with their most expensive purchase- real estate

What sets Toronto Miami Group apart from others is our approach and our process, we tailored our process based on the foreign national needs and challenges as we’ve been there ourselves.

What are you known for and what is one thing you are proud of?
I’m known for my strategic thinking, communication skills, and sharp execution. Outside of work, I’m very proud of my latest trip to Africa, where I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro (the tallest mountain in Africa) in only 3 days. Funny enough, after escaping the snow in Toronto and enjoying sunny Miami, when I started the last part of climbing up to the summit, a snow storm came from nowhere and followed us all the way to the peak, yes it was freezing (again!) and without much oxygen at nearly 20,000 ft, but it was worth it!

How do you define success?
Success for me is to be able to impact other people’s lives and to make a difference, add something new that they can gain from, and find it valuable for their own path and day-to-day lives.

I always knew I enjoy helping people and being close with people, my name means my friend in Hebrew and only in the last few years I realized how much it affected who I am and what I do, every relationship I had in life no matter of its nature, always started as a friendship or turned to one, and this has helped me a lot in my path to success while leaving one comfort zone to build another.
