Today we’d like to introduce you to Katie Elizabeth Cunningham.
Hi Katie Elizabeth, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I am an International Custom Fine Artist & Inspirational speaker.. I started creating art when I first moved to Canada from the United Kingdom when I was 12. I had my first sale when I was in high school. This is when I started my business. I had such a hard time finding the perfect art, size, and color for my house and decided to paint my own works for my walls. People would come over and literally buy the art off of my walls. Now I have going on 17 years of experience selling my art internationally. I am now selling NFT Fine Art, along with working for a developing film due to be released Spring 2022 I am going to be starting my global exhibition
My motto is that I will paint anything, any size, any color.
Also, my mission is to inspire others to go after their goals and dreams.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road at all! There have been times throughout my career where the only person who believed in my vision was myself. From battling through my own mental health problems, as well as an extremely abusive relationship and I was almost a murder victim. Not only that, I was also in a horrific car accident where I was rear ended by someone going over 100 when I was stopped which caused chronic vertigo and PTSD. This accident was a blessing in disguise as it is what brought me out of a successful career in real estate and pushed me to do my art full time. As I had no choice because I couldn’t go back into real estate due to my condition. This is where I combined my knowledge of business and art and turned it into a successful career. I always used my art as an escape from my reality. Art is therapy and really helped me during the toughest times of my life. However, I’ve always had my vision of becoming one of the worlds top emerging mid career artists selling my art around the world…which is now what I have been doing full time for the past five years.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My motto is that I will paint ANYTHING, ANY SIZE, ANY COLOR.
I am 110% custom, however I specialize in memorial portraits of loved ones that have passed, along with past and present pet portraits.
I believe that my talent is God’s gift and to use it in the right way. Being able to create such sentimental Fine Art for my clients humbles my heart so much.
I am most proud of raising thousands and thousands of dollars for multiple charities. Along with my Sunny Days Project where I have spent the last few years volunteering with children at the hospitals, painting with them and donating art supplies.
Another service that I offer is Live Elegant Entertainment where I LIVE paint for 3-4 hours. I create whatever my clients want at their weddings, anniversaries, galas, fundraisers or any other celebratory event.
My mission is to inspire others to go after their goals and dreams.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My father Mr. Andrew Cunningham. I grew up watching him paint and have always shared the love of art together. He is always teaching me the traditions of the greats and perspectives.
