Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Schumacher.
Hi Jennifer, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Pink Flamingo Photography nearly six years ago, focusing on real estate media here in Brevard County. What began as a solo venture quickly grew through relationships, consistency, and a strong focus on delivering high-quality work for top agents and brokers. Over time, we built a reputation in the local market, working with almost 1,000 clients and earning over 200 five-star reviews.
As the industry evolved, I saw a shift happening, agents and business owners needed more than just photos. They needed content that helped them stand out online. That led me to open Pink Flamingo Studios in July of 2025, a full-service content studio designed for modern marketing, podcasts, video, green screen, and brand storytelling all in one place.
Today, I operate both companies side by side, one rooted in real estate media, and the other focused on helping professionals, business owners and entrepreneurs show up confidently and consistently through content. It’s been a natural evolution driven by listening to what my clients actually need and building around that.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. Like most businesses, there have been a lot of learning curves along the way, especially in the early years when I was doing everything myself and figuring systems out as I went.
One of the biggest challenges has been growth. As the business expanded, I had to learn how to bring on contractors, manage a team, and trust other people with the quality of the work. That shift from doing everything yourself to leading others is not always easy, but it’s necessary if you want to scale. There were also moments where I invested time training people, sharing everything I knew, and then watched them go off and start their own businesses. That’s a tough reality in this industry, and it forces you to think differently about how you build your team and what makes your company more than just a skillset.
Opening the studio was another big leap. It came with a lot of upfront investment and a different kind of pressure. It’s not just about doing great work anymore, it’s about consistently bringing people in, educating the market on something that is still evolving, and helping clients understand the value of content beyond just photos.
There have also been moments where I had to pause and reassess, what’s working, what’s not, and where I should be focusing my time and energy. But I think those moments are what shape the direction of the business the most.
Overall, it hasn’t been perfect, but every challenge has pushed me to build something stronger and more intentional.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I run two businesses that complement each other. Pink Flamingo Photography is focused on real estate media, helping agents, brokers, and teams present their listings at a high level. That’s where the business started almost 6 years ago, and over the years we’ve built strong relationships in the local market and a reputation for consistency and quality.
Pink Flamingo Studios is the newer side of the business and where a lot of my focus is now. It’s a content studio designed for business owners and professionals who want to show up more consistently online but don’t necessarily know where to start.
We offer everything from Portraits and Lifestyle Photos, podcast recordings and short-form video, green screen content, and guided sessions where clients can come in and create a large amount of content in a short period of time.
I’d say what we specialize in, and what we’re really known for, is making the process feel approachable. A lot of people are uncomfortable on camera or overwhelmed by content creation, so we’ve built an environment where they’re guided through it in a way that feels natural, not forced or overly scripted.
What I’m most proud of is the consistency we’ve built over time. In the real estate business, that looks like years of repeat clients and over 200 five-star reviews. In the studio, it’s seeing people come in unsure or hesitant and leave feeling confident and excited about what they created.
What sets us apart is that we’re not just providing a service, we’re helping people market themselves. There are plenty of photographers and videographers, but not many who are focused on how that content actually gets used and how it helps someone grow their business. That’s always the bigger picture for me.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I think the industry is shifting from just providing media to helping people consistently show up and stay relevant. Photos and videos aren’t going anywhere, but the expectation around how often you’re creating content and how you’re using it is completely different than it was even a few years ago….not to mention AI.
Short-form video, personal branding, and educational content are only going to become more important. People want to work with someone they feel like they know and trust, and that’s built through consistent visibility, not just polished, one-time projects.
I also think we’ll see a bigger divide between people who treat content as an occasional task and those who treat it as part of their overall business strategy. The ones who lean into it and stay consistent are going to stand out in a big way. The loudest marketer wins, but only if it still feels authentic.
On the production side, things are becoming more accessible, equipment, editing tools, and largely AI, but that also means quality alone isn’t enough to differentiate you anymore. The value is shifting toward guidance, strategy, and helping clients actually use the content in a meaningful way.
That’s really where I see things going, and it’s a big part of why I built the studio the way I did, focused not just on creating content, but helping people feel comfortable, confident, and consistent in how they show up.
