Life & Work with Daniela Kronvall of Stockholm – Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Kronvall.

Hi Daniela, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey began in the quiet, reflective landscapes of Sweden, where a deep, almost instinctive pull toward visual expression took hold long before I ever considered it a profession. As a young adult, I did not simply dream of becoming an artist — I lived in that dream.

Whenever I had the chance, I would wander through museums. Those moments were more than memories — they were sensations. I remember how the artworks carried me, how they opened worlds beyond the visible, how they gave form to feelings I didn’t yet have words for. In many ways, they gave life meaning before I even understood what meaning was.

From that point on, I was irrevocably drawn to the emotional language of art: The way color, texture and form can express what language so often cannot. Over time, that intuitive connection has deepened and matured into a dedicated and evolving artistic practice. Yet the origins of my work are not only emotional, they are also intellectual.

I often return to a quieter, less visible foundation: A long-standing fascination with Neuropsychology, Neuroscience, and Psychology, alongside a deep curiosity for Quantum Physics. I have a Master in Science of Education and many years of fascination in Philosophy. These disciplines have profoundly shaped how I understand perception, consciousness and emotional response, becoming a conceptual backbone to my artistic inquiry.

It is within this intersection where science meets intuition that my work continues to evolve. I see my practice not simply as visual expression, but as an ongoing investigation: A way of exploring the relationship between art, technology and human cognition.

My journey is defined by a constant search for knowledge: An openness to new skills, new ideas and emerging technologies that expand both process and perspective. Equally important has been my decision not only to create, but to build a world around my work. This has meant stepping beyond the studio, and learning how to position my practice internationally, collaborating with galleries and forming meaningful relationships with collectors across borders. It is this balance between creation and connection, between introspection and expansion that continues to shape my path as an artist today.

Today, my work is presented in curated exhibitions across major art events around the world, with Miami remaining a constant source of inspiration. The city’s atmosphere, particularly during Art Basel Miami Beach and Miami Art Week aligns closely with my visual language: Bold, expressive and globally connected.

A significant moment in my journey was my participation in an AI Panel Discussion during Miami Art Week 2025, titled Beyond the Brush: Generative Art in the Age of AI, hosted by Miami Art Week at the Coral Gables Museum. The panel was conceived as an educational and interactive collaboration, bringing together professors, designers, artists, academics, creators, filmmakers and audiences to explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping the boundaries of artistic creation in our society. Our expertise, creative vision, and the clarity with which we articulate the evolving landscape of authorship, originality and artistic intent in the age of algorithms made the dialogue truly exceptional. Our insights into both the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence particularly around artistic freedom, ownership, and human machine collaboration created a conversation that was both inspiring and deeply thought provoking.

For me, this moment encapsulated something larger than a single event. It confirmed that the role of the artist is evolving, not diminishing, in the age of artificial intelligence. My reflection is that while technology can generate, replicate and accelerate, it cannot replace intention, lived experience or emotional depth. Artificial intelligence may assist the hand, however, it is still the human who gives the work its meaning as an agent.

At its core, my work explores emotional landscapes, often abstract or monochromic, yet grounded in human experience. Each piece is an invitation to pause, reflect, feel and reflect once again.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not always been a smooth road and I think that is essential to acknowledge. Building a career as both an artist and an entrepreneur requires resilience. You are navigating two worlds simultaneously: The deeply personal, vulnerable act of creating, and the strategic, often demanding reality of building a brand. One of the biggest challenges has been carving out space in an international art scene that is both competitive and fast-moving. Exhibiting globally whether in London or Miami means constantly evolving, refining your voice, and staying relevant without losing authenticity.

There is also the challenge of visibility. Talent alone is rarely enough; you have to understand positioning, storytelling and timing. That is where my entrepreneurial mindset has been invaluable. It has allowed me to approach my art not just as isolated works, but as part of a larger narrative and long-term vision.

The rise of artificial intelligence has added another layer of complexity but also clarity. Through my participation in the AI Panel Discussion at the Coral Gables Museum, I have come to see artificial intelligence not as a disruption to resist, but as a medium to engage with critically and creatively. It challenges us to define what originality truly means and to reaffirm the value of human authorship.

Looking back, I would not call it easy, however, I would call it purposeful and meaningful. Every challenge has shaped me, strengthened my direction and clarified what I stand for as an entrepreneur and an artist.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I believe in redefining what mentorship looks like. It does not always come in a formal structure, and it does not always come from one person. In my experience, it is a dynamic exchange that something happens through conversations, lectures, collaborations and shared environments.

Being present in the art world is key. Attending exhibitions, engaging with galleries, and participating in international shows especially in places like Miami naturally creates opportunities for meaningful connections.

My experience at the Coral Gables Museum during Miami Art Week 2025 reinforced this. The panel format created a space not just for speaking, but for listening — engaging directly with the audience, exchanging ideas, and elucidating complex topics in our postmodern society. That kind of interaction is invaluable; it turns networking into a genuine dialogue.

What has been the most valuable to me is to stay open. Inspiration can come from everywhere: Science, Neuroscience, Psychology, Norms, Success, Artists, curators, collectors, or even other people outside the art world. Each interaction adds a layer to your perspective.

My advice is simple: Be authentic, be consistent and do not wait for permission to take your place. Build your own network by showing up with intention and let your work speak, but also let your presence be felt.

For me, risk-taking is not about recklessness it is rather about curiosity, courage and the willingness to step into the unknown. It is what drives my art, my work and my life. Some of my most unforgettable adventures have taken me far beyond the studio: Into the jungle of Bolivia, where I had the rare and humbling experience to work closely with pumas and monkeys, helping them rehabilitate and return to their natural environments.

Those encounters taught me lessons that no classroom ever could. I learnt to read instinct, to respect power, and to trust my own intuition. Every leap whether climbing a cliff, diving into untested ideas, or facing the gaze of a wild animal teaches you something profound about resilience, presence and courage.

In life and art, taking risks is not about fearlessness; it is about showing up fully, embracing uncertainty, and trusting that the journey will shape you in ways you might cannot yet imagine, or it could shape you exactly the way you imagine seeing your future self. Trust your intuition, discipline, perseverance, and will power. For me, the wild is both a teacher and a mirror; it reminds me that true growth often begins when we step outside our comfort zone.
