Life and Work with Mandy Paulino

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mandy Paulino.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my blog ”MandySharesLife” as a hobby back in 2011, I just loved to write and I wanted to share my thoughts with people. I wrote about fashion and beauty trends I liked back then but I never posted a picture about me, I was so scared to put myself out there and I honestly was a little afraid of what people would think of me. Back in that time, all we see now as Fashion Bloggers and Bloggers, in general, was a new thing, so uploading pictures of me ”modeling” clothes was very different.

One day, my husband (then boyfriend) was testing a new DSLR camera I got and took some pictures of me, I actually liked them a lot so I decided to make an OOTD post and to my surprise, that post got more comments and engagement than the rest of my articles, from then on I saw the potential the blog had and it just kept growing and growing making something I started as a hobby to a job.

Has it been a smooth road?
I think it all depends on your goals, what do you want out of this? Everything takes time, everything has its process, I know it may sound cliche but honestly, there’s nothing better than being yourself. This industry ”Social Media” ”Content Creators” has grown tremendously in the last couple of years, there’re a lot of people doing the same stuff, the only thing that will make you stand out is being YOU. Don’t focus on the numbers at first, invest your time and energy in quality, the rest will come with time and persistence.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
Since I was a little girl, I’ve always loved to film and take pictures and to this day that’s pretty much all I do but as a job. Which, in my opinion, doesn’t feel like ”work” at all. I’d say I’m known for ”sharing my life” bits and pieces of it, I’d say my Instagram and blog are based on my lifestyle and, of course, I’m willing to inspire others through my lens and writing.

I’m proud of how something I started randomly one day has opened so many doors and offered so many opportunities. Being real and posting organic and truthful content I think sets me apart from the others.

Who have you been inspired by?
This is such a hard question because there’re a lot of women I’ve been following since the beginning, besides the OG Beauty and Fashion YouTubers, women that I admired back in the day and inspired me to keep doing what I loved are definitely Aimee Song and Camila Coelho.
