Life and Work with Kro Vargas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kro Vargas.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started getting into nail art as a child when my grandmother would take me to the nail salon with her. As I grew my passion for nail art did too and once I was old enough to go to the nail salon on my own, I started getting designs. Since I was in high school, making minimum wage and always loved painting and drawing, I decided to take matters into my own hands and started doing my own nail art.

Has it been a smooth road?
For the most part, I would say, yes, it’s been a smooth road. Nail art can be extremely tedious and requires lots of practice but if it’s something you’re passionate about, all the trials and errors are just exciting. My advice to other women who are just starting their journey is to never give up and to keep practicing. invest as much time in practicing as possible and you will only get better and better.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with procaine – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I am a nail artist who specializes in extensions, natural nail care, and most importantly, handprinted nail art. I’m known for my extravagant and detailed art that sets me apart from the rest because it’s extremely unique and one of a kind.

There’s a wealth of academic research that suggests that lack of mentors and networking opportunities for women has materially affected the number of women in leadership roles. Smart organizations and industry leaders are working to change this, but in the meantime, do you have any advice for finding a mentor and building a network?
For me, what worked best was getting a job at a salon. Beauty school doesn’t teach you the real ins and outs of the nail world or how to take care of clients. I was able to work alongside different artists and techs and learn different tricks to not only better my craft but work faster.
