Today we’d like to introduce you to Allie Nicole.
Allie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I started doing hair color when I was in 5th grade. I was always doing my aunts & grandmothers hair & nails, styling and nailart!
As I grew older, I started doing friends hair, friends of friends, etc. I eventually went to Paul Mitchell for my cosmetology license.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I don’t think any road is a smooth road. When I was in school, I needed emergency surgery, was homeless and jobless by the last few months. I put on my big girl pants and made it through. My only goal was to graduate from that school.
My advice is to overcome that obstacle that you feel is blocking your success. Study hard, practice hard, listen to everything a mentor has to tell you and return the favor once you succeed!

I love vivid colors. I always have. Which is why all of my styling tools are pastels, colorful, and really show my personality. That’s why I decided on “Cosmiicaa” for my IG. Cosmic colors are everything! And the cosmos provide the most beautiful colors & textures that exist for amazing inspiration.
Often it feels as if the media, by and large, is only focused on the obstacles faced by women, but we feel it’s important to also look for the opportunities. In your view, are there opportunities that you see that women are particularly well positioned for?
I feel like no matter which sex you are, there are opportunities every day if you are looking. The problem is if the timing is right!
