Inspiring Conversations with Sara Sidaros of Merakii Beauty Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Sidaros.

Sara Sidaros

Hi Sara, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I always had a passion for beauty and art. Back in high school, I used to do all of my friends’ nails; and being that my mom worked in the beauty industry, she passed down her knowledge and always encouraged me to keep going and do better. Funny enough, I went to school for something completely different, too, nowhere near a creative field. And once I graduated, I started working in politics.

The thing is, I wasn’t fulfilled… And while I was making an impact on people’s lives, I didn’t have a passion for politics like I did for art and beauty. So I did the scariest thing in the world… I switched careers and started from scratch. I went back to what I was most passionate about making a positive impact on people’s lives by helping them feel beautiful through my art.

From there, I opened my business and it’s been exhilarating and remarkable ever since.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Fulfilling your dreams takes facing your fears. I have built my clientele over several years so that factor made it easier to start than starting this business from scratch but it still entailed a lot of work. I have been in this field for almost 10+ years so my knowledge of administration specifically in the salon management role was the biggest advantage I could have.

I knew where, how, and what I needed to set up this business but starting it was a huge leap of faith. As a small business owner, I’m juggling many hats; I’m the owner, the supplier, the employee, the social media manager, the customer service manager, etc. It’s been a lot of work but I’m grateful for the opportunity to run my own business.

The biggest struggle would be maintaining a healthy work/life balance but I’ve also accepted that to reach certain goals it requires a lot of sacrifice which I know will be worth it for my business to grow.

As you know, we’re big fans of Merakii Beauty Studio. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Merakii Beauty Studio is a modern privately owned salon. Tailored to each client to achieve your skincare and nail needs. We pride ourselves on our professional service with personalized attention. We specialize in two categories; nails including hand-painted nail art, and skincare with a variety of services; facials, brows, and lashes. What sets us apart is we provide a tranquil space to disconnect and our attention to detail from beginning to end of every service.

The second you step into the salon, you feel a sense of relaxation and privacy during your time with us. I am most proud of my brand for being committed to achieving the best results for each client. We take pride in making sure every single one of our clients leaves our salon feeling confident and knowing they will always receive exceptional service from Merakii Beauty Studio.

I want readers to know this brand was created to set a new standard in the beauty industry. There are a lot of stereotypes within my field so I have created my brand to be as transparent as possible and committed to providing the highest standard of service.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was always interested in beauty and art. Whether it was painting canvases or simply playing with polishes on my nails I always had my hands in something creative.

I have always been the DIY girl, the friend that curls your hair or does your makeup before a night out so it’s taken a role in my professional life and and makes it feel like I’m not just running a business but also creating a beautiful art piece every single day when my clients leave my salon feeling a new level confidence than when they first walked in.

Mixing that passion with my artistic side came to my advantage when perfecting my craft in nail art and brow design. I always found some sort of creative activity in school so now being in my adulthood and having the ability to create art every single day is the most exciting part of running this business.
