Inspiring Conversations with Michelle Cristantiello of Pawsitive Prep

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Cristantiello.

Hi Michelle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my career in Professional Dog Training 38 years ago competing in AKC sanctioned Obedience rings! Today, I’m a certified AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator and can train, test and award graduation ribbons to my graduates in 4 levels of Obedience! I offer private and group classes both in person and Virtual. My services include Service Dog Training, Aquatic Therapy and Trick Dog Training.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My challenge is not having an affordable physical air conditioned location where I can hold my private and group classes.

We’ve been impressed with Pawsitive Prep, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My 38 years of experience in Dog Training helps dog owners develop a relationship with their dogs built on respect and trust. I develop a relationship with my clients so they feel comfortable with their training at home and they can call my cell phone if they need help in between our scheduled sessions for added support. I will address all behaviors that happen at home privately to ensure success in the classroom setting if needed.
For the last 11 years, I have been a volunteer Dog Trainer for Pooches In Pines. A 503C non for profit organization helping lost dogs find their way home in Pembroke Pines or assisting the newly adopted dogs with their transitions periods at home.
I’m most proud of my volunteer work as it’s my way of giving back to the community where I raised my family.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love that Pembroke Pines is the city of trees! Pembroke Pines offers an array of opportunities for all ages including a senior center. I’m a member of the Pembroke Pines CERT Team, Community Emergency Response Team. Trained in all scenarios to be of help in time of need.
