Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittany Heyne.
Hi Brittany, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I grew up in the middle of 3 sisters- we all played every sport possible and were very active and competitive. I was the heaviest of the three and always compared myself to my sisters. From there I grew an interest (and almost an unhealthy obsession) with food and nutrition. I went on to pursue a BS in Nutritional Sciences. Over the years I’ve tried to maintain a healthy lifestyle by eating well and exercising, but 8 years ago my mental health took a turn for the worst.
I found myself in a toxic relationship and it landed me a spot in the hospital. My self-confidence was nonexistent, I felt lost, and I didn’t know who I was. I knew I needed to change something. I started putting myself first, making my physical and mental health a priority. I got (and still am) involved heavily in strength training. I pursued a certification in Personal Training and nutrition counseling.
Fitness changed my life and continues to change it. It’s not just about physique. It’s the mental component and everything it teaches you. I’ve applied it to all areas of my life and can truly say it’s saved me. I started coaching in hopes that I could help others struggling with similar issues.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road. There are always ups and downs. There will always be obstacles. It’s the down times and the obstacles that build mental strength. It’s what makes you stronger. Those obstacles, those times that you never thought you’d get through then do, those are the times when you realize how strong you are. You recognize you’re capable of anything. You recognize how resilient you are. This is what builds your self-confidence. This is what builds you.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I currently do online 1:1 personal training and nutrition. I make it a point to get to know my clients on a personal level, so we build trust with one another. The more I know about them, the more I can help them achieve whatever goal they set out. I specialize in women looking to regain their self-confidence back through physical and mental strengthening.
I’m most proud looking back at how far I’ve come and the lives I’ve changed. My clients change my life as much as I change theirs. It why I do what I do. Helping others is what drives me. I want the readers to know that I’m a trainer that believes in balance and everything in moderation, to never give up on your goals and that you can accomplish anything and everything you set your mind to. My door is always open!
Happiness, never giving up, and reaching a goal or accomplishing something you’ve set out to achieve.
