Today we’d like to introduce you to Ricardo Dangond.
Hi Ricardo, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
How ExpoFineArt Was Born
ExpoFineArt was born from a dream. I have always felt a deep connection to art, but it was after reading “The Art of Collecting Art” by Javier Lumbreras that I realized that owning a work of art is not exclusive to major collectors or large budgets.
That realization marked the beginning of my journey as a collector. I set a goal to acquire my first piece, and that’s how my path into the art world began. Over time, whenever I shared my collection with friends, I would often hear the same comment: “it must have been very expensive.” This perception reinforced a key belief for me: art is accessible, and collecting it does not have to be out of reach.
That’s when the idea of creating a gallery began to take shape.
With the arrival of the pandemic, the concept evolved into a digital platform. Technology opened new possibilities—today, high-quality imagery and virtual tools allow for a meaningful experience without losing the essence or emotional impact of the artwork.
ExpoFineArt was born as a contemporary platform that blends the virtual with selective physical exhibitions, offering art enthusiasts the opportunity to discover, connect, and ultimately fulfill the dream of owning a work of art.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building ExpoFineArt was a process of patience, persistence, and belief. It took me over a year to connect with artists, earn their trust, and have them believe in the vision of the project. Securing works on consignment was not just a logistical step—it was about building relationships and credibility within the art community.
At the same time, I dedicated countless hours to photographing each artwork, ensuring that every detail and essence of the pieces could be appreciated in a virtual space. Designing the gallery itself became a creative process—translating the physical experience of art into a digital platform that feels engaging and authentic.
Alongside this, I developed graphic materials to communicate the identity of the gallery, shaping a visual language that reflects both the artists and the vision behind ExpoFineArt.
What began as an idea evolved through dedication and passion into a platform built with intention—one that continues to grow with every artist, every artwork, and every connection made along the way.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about ExpoFineArt?

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Some of my best childhood memories come from a farm my family owned in Colombia. It was a place full of freedom, nature, and simple joys—where days felt endless and everything seemed alive with possibility.
My earliest connection to art, however, happened in a much more unexpected way. One afternoon, my friends and I were playing football in the street in front of my house, completely absorbed in the game. Out of nowhere, a man passed by and told us he was an artist. He offered to paint us in exchange for a little money. Something about that moment caught my attention—it felt different, almost magical.
That same day, driven by curiosity and excitement, I decided to hire him to give me art classes. Without fully realizing it, that spontaneous encounter became the beginning of my journey into art.
