Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Iribarren.
Hi Daniel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
After more than two decades working in marketing for global companies, I felt it was time to channel everything I’d learned into something of my own. I’ve always been passionate about building business models from the ground up — spotting opportunities, shaping them with intention, and turning them into sustainable, high-impact ventures.
In 2012, I left Venezuela and relocated to Bogotá, Colombia, where I launched a digital advertising company. A few years later, I moved to Medellín and developed a restaurant chain. But it wasn’t until I came to the United States that I found a new calling — one that brought together my love for design, service, and experience-building: men’s grooming.
That’s how Shaving District was born.
I set out to build an experience that transcended the typical barbershop — I wanted a space where men could slow down, feel seen, and enjoy top-tier service without the noise. A place that blended old-school rituals with modern style. Working with acclaimed architect Iñaki Muguruza and his studio Insight Design, we built a refined, masculine sanctuary that reflects everything I believe in: quality, taste, and care in the details.
Shaving District isn’t just where you go to get a haircut. It’s where you go to reconnect with yourself — to feel sharp, confident, and ready to take on the world.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Building Shaving District hasn’t been without challenges — but I’ve never believed that the easy road leads to meaningful success. Challenges force you to analyze, adapt, and truly understand the market you’re stepping into.
We launched in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, when many businesses were sadly shutting down. But we chose to move forward — confident in this country’s economic resilience and in the idea that the best opportunities often come during the hardest times.
From navigating a complex permitting process in Miami to managing construction, financing, and team building, every stage has demanded perseverance. But the greatest challenge — and the most rewarding — has been building a team that truly lives the soul of the brand.
At Shaving District, being a skilled barber is just the start. What we look for is character, ambition, and shared vision. We don’t see our team as just service providers — they’re the heart of the brand. Each one is an ambassador of the experience we’ve built, and that’s something you can’t put a price on.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Shaving District?
At its core, Shaving District is about creating an experience that redefines the regular barbershop. After years in executive roles across luxury and service-driven industries, I developed a deep appreciation for thoughtful design, refined service, and the kind of places that make people feel taken care of.
That’s what I set out to build: a modern barbershop that pays homage to classic grooming rituals, while raising the bar in atmosphere, service, and detail. I wanted to create a space that felt curated and elevated — a place where men could slow down, feel at ease, and walk out looking and feeling their best.
Shaving District is the result of that vision. It’s a sanctuary designed with intention, where sophistication meets comfort, and where every touchpoint — from the architecture to the service — reflects a standard of excellence. We don’t just offer haircuts. We offer a space to disconnect, to connect, and to leave sharper — in every sense of the word.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Credit doesn’t belong to just one person — it’s shared by a community that has shaped every step of this journey.
First and foremost, to God, who has been our guide and constant source of strength. To my partners, Vicky and David, whose unwavering commitment has been foundational from day one. To our incredible team of professionals, and to every individual and organization that, at different stages, brought passion, talent, resources, and vision to this project.
And of course, to our clients — the ones who have trusted us with their image, their time, and their confidence.
We’re especially grateful to:
• Karina Vaguez – Business Advisor
• Miami Bayside Foundation
• Insight Design
• Daniela Richani – MAD Abundance Marketing
• Downtown Neighbors Alliance (DNA)
And to so many more who have played a vital role in this story.
Some are no longer with us, many are still walking this path alongside us, but all — without exception — have left a meaningful and lasting mark on the making of Shaving District.
