Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Lagiorgia.
Samantha, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey as a nail technician started in Montreal, Canada, when I was 17 years old. I landed a job at a local nail salon, where I dove headfirst into learning everything I could about nails.
After gaining valuable experience, I decided to take a leap of faith and work for myself. My goal has always been to provide an incredible nail care experience while focusing on maintaining the health of my clients’ nails. Fast forward to today, I’m now based in sunny Florida, where I continue to build my business as part-owner of Salt The Spa and share my love for nail artistry.
I’m passionate about what I do and take pride in using safe, high-quality products, maintaining sanitary practices, and ensuring my clients leave with beautiful nails.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Becoming a good nail tech hasn’t been easy. It’s taken a lot of patience, practice, and determination. In the beginning, I felt overwhelmed trying to master shaping, application, and detailed nail art while also getting faster and more consistent.
I’ve had to learn how to handle mistakes and still stay confident. On top of that, the long hours, physical strain, and pressure of building my own clientele have really tested me. But over time, I’ve realized that staying consistent and passionate is what’s helping me grow into the nail tech I want to be.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a nail artist and technician with 6 years of experience.
I specialize in detailed nail art and creative, custom designs. I love bringing unique ideas to life, whether it’s intricate hand-painted art, bold sets, or something completely outside the box. Along with creativity, I focus on long lasting quality, making sure every set not only looks amazing but is also healthy for the natural nail. I’ve become known for my precision, consistency, and my ability to turn my clients’ visions into something even better than they imagined.
What I’m most proud of is my growth, going from feeling unsure in the beginning to building real confidence in my work and creating sets I’m genuinely proud of. I’m also proud of the relationships I’ve built with my clients and the trust they have in me.
What sets me apart is my creativity and attention to detail. I don’t just do nails, I create art. I make sure every client leaves feeling confident and unique. I’m always pushing myself to grow, stay inspired, and elevate my work, which I believe is what keeps me standing out.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I see the nail industry evolving toward a balance of creativity, technology, and nail health. Clients are starting to prefer cleaner, more refined looks, but detailed nail art and creativity will always be in demand, just in a more intentional way.
I also think technology and higher-quality products will push nail techs to keep learning and adapting as healthier, more eco-friendly options become the standard. The biggest shift, though, is personalization. Clients want unique sets that reflect who they are, not just trends.
Overall, the industry is becoming more elevated, where artistry, consistency, and experience matter more than ever.
Those days of walking into a random nail shop, feeling rushed through the process, and just hoping your nails come out decent are becoming a thing of the past.
