Today we’d like to introduce you to Malury Imbernon.
Hi Malury , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey has always been guided by a deep, unshakeable passion for the arts. From a very early age, I found myself drawn to creative expression — music, sound, visuals — these were the languages that felt most natural to me. I naturally gravitated toward musicians and artists, surrounding myself with that world and that energy. I knew that whatever career I committed to had to be one where I could lose myself in the work and never feel like it was labor.
I began studying audio engineering in Venezuela, where I also completed an internship at a prominent recording studio. My business partner, Adrian Morales Demori, and I started what would eventually become Heiga right out of my home garage. In 1999, Venezuela’s political landscape shifted dramatically for the worse, and I made the difficult but clear-eyed decision to leave. I came to the United States, where I furthered my education in Media Arts and Animation, discovering a profound love for visual arts that perfectly complemented my audio background. Adrian kept our operations running while I studied, and once I finished, we reunited and rebuilt — this time in Fort Lauderdale, starting over in a new country with a warehouse and a vision.
We grew steadily, expanding from music production into a full range of audio-visual disciplines, traveling to Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York to bring in clients. That growth eventually brought us to our current 3,200-square-foot facility in Downtown Miami, where we now work with major labels — Sony Music, Warner, Universal — and lead creative and production for major brands like Burger King, Popeyes, and Tim Hortons. Among our proudest achievements is producing *Loud: The History of Reggaeton*, a #1 global podcast for Spotify. Our portfolio spans television series, documentaries, films, video games, and live sound.
Most recently, we partnered with IK Multimedia to launch the Heiga Studios Amp Series for ToneX — a collection of premium tone models capturing the rare, vintage, and boutique amplifiers that have shaped the sound of multi-platinum and Latin Grammy-winning records made right here at our studio. Since its release in January 2026, the collection has received international press coverage from some of the most respected publications in the industry, and was awarded a 9 out of 10 by Guitar.com — one of the world’s leading guitar publications — which called it a collection of “impeccably realistic amp tones” that gives ToneX “a serious quality boost.” For me, it represents something deeply meaningful — taking Heiga’s sonic DNA and making it accessible to bedroom producers, touring guitarists, and studio engineers all over the world. That’s the kind of possibility we dreamed about when we built this studio from the ground up.
Today, I’m proud to lead Heiga Studios and Heiga Creative as an independent, woman-owned company.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been an easy journey — and the entertainment industry, by nature, never is. The way I see it, you have to be truly passionate about it to stay for the long run. It demands everything from you. And yet, I have been incredibly fortunate to be part of it, and for that I am deeply grateful.
I have lived through the transition from an analog world to a digital one, and now we find ourselves stepping into a new era defined by AI. I have weathered the different cycles this industry brings — the shifts, the reinventions, the moments where you have to adapt or be left behind. That in itself has been one of the greatest educations of my life.
On top of the professional challenges, I also faced the very personal one of leaving everything behind and starting from zero in a new country. The United States has been more than welcoming — it opened its doors to me and has helped me grow and elevate in ways I could not have imagined.
Through all of it, I have leaned heavily on my spirituality and my commitment to integrity. I practice Falun Dafa, also known as Falun Gong — a free meditation and qigong practice for mind and body, rooted in the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance. I do my best to live by these principles in everything I do, alongside maintaining a very healthy lifestyle. This industry is well known for its vices, but I can say with a clean and clear conscience that I am proud of every step I have taken along the way.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Heiga Studios and Heiga Creative are full-service audio-visual production companies based in the heart of Downtown Miami. Our work spans a wide range of disciplines: audio post-production for major entertainment properties such as Paramount Pictures, Transformers, Disney, ESPN, Sesame Street, and Mr. Beast; music recording, production, and editing for leading labels including Sony Music, Warner, and Universal; Dolby Atmos mixing; podcast and audiobook production for clients like Spotify and HarperCollins; and video and creative content production for global brands such as Burger King, Tim Hortons, Popeyes, RBI, and The Axis Agency — all under one independent roof.
Our space is completely private and attention is personalized. Our 3,200-square-foot facility is flooded with natural light, and most of our clients say they simply love the vibe. My favorite quote to describe us comes from Sterling Campbell — drummer of David Bowie and the B-52s — “a boutique studio with a major studio sound.”
We have been incredibly humbled and blessed to have earned the trust and support of sponsors such as Roland and IK Multimedia. Most recently, our partnership with IK Multimedia gave birth to the Heiga Studios Amp Series for ToneX — a collection that earned a 9 out of 10 from Guitar.com and received international press coverage across the UK, Australia, Germany, France, and beyond. For my business partner and I, it was a milestone that felt deeply personal.
