Daily Inspiration: Meet Jessica Molina

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Molina.

Hi Jessica, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started Her Divine Vibe Podcast in 2018 which was at first called Sweet Flower Podcast. I was living in Los Angeles at the time working in product development in the beauty industry, What sparked the idea for me to start this was from an astrology natal chart reading I had got done that same year. I’ve always been so into astrology & so I decided to get this reading by a professional astrologer who happened to be one of my favorite professors from FIDM (my college). If you know astrology then you know the different energies planets have & how what sign/house that planet is placed is how you express that energy. So we got to talking about career path & how I would thrive in doing something where I make some type of content whether it be blogging, making videos on YouTube and then she mentioned podcasting. She said I had a gift to talk about certain topics on a deeper level. & I always knew this about myself; I just didn’t know how to express it. I tried Youtube before but I took the wrong approach to it (at the time, I was trying to be a beauty guru).

Blogging didn’t really sit with me because I use too many adjectives when I write so I felt that was a no for me lol I’m not the best writer. However podcasting, I loved the idea of that because I love to talk, and the fact that I could do that at the comfort of my home and talk about anything I wanted kind of like an open diary, I was so excited about it! Let me also mention podcasting at that time was not so trendy like it is now, & that also intrigued me because I love doing things that not everyone else is on. It really happened organically. So I did my research, invested money on a mic, learned how to make an RSS feed, jotted down topics that I was passionate about & started uploading on Soundcloud. The podcast is like a journey of my own spiritual growth & being a woman wanting to level up on her life in all aspects – spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, & financially. I knew there had to be a group of women who were on the same path, on getting back to that self-love & wanting to have some fun girl talk too. All my episodes are just me, it wasn’t until 2020 that I started featuring a few people on the show & am definitely open to having more people come on! So sometime in late 2020, I decided to rebrand because I felt like a very different woman from when I had started so it was only right and the name really represents what the podcast is all about, tapping into our divine feminine energy and talking all things astrology, self-love & everything in between. So as podcasting grew to be more & more popular so did the platforms & reach. I moved on from my Soundcloud days & you can now listen on Apple, Spotify & google podcasts.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road I definitely have come across some struggles. In the beginning, it was all so new for me so I didn’t have major expectations, but you know I held a certain standard for myself because I am a perfectionist & everything has to be how I envision it in my mind otherwise I’m not so proud of my work. I created my own cover art, I recorded edited & posted all by myself which of course took time & a lot of learning. I wasn’t making any money from this, and that wasn’t the goal but I wanted to invest in making videos & better cover arts I just wasn’t financially ready. I started an Instagram for the podcast starting with zero followers & that as we know takes time to grow, you have to be clear on what is your brand voice, who is your audience & how can you be engaging and stand out from other podcasts pages. I would get discouraged many times because I wasn’t seeing growth & engagement but I kept going. I sometimes also struggle with consistency, it’s really only me on. I rarely have guests so I have to make sure I create time, I’m tapped in & inspired but you sometimes there are distractions that happen so I’ve been learning to balance my personal life with the podcast. The thing is even through the struggles, I’m here four years later maybe not exactly on the top 10 podcasts on Apple or Spotify but I believe in Her Divine Vibe so much and the messages I receive from my listeners on how my episodes have brought light & love, inspiration, encouraged them, that is what keeps me going!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Although Her Divine Vibe started as a podcast, it has grown to be so much more. When I moved to Miami in the beginning of 2019, I left the beauty industry behind. I put my focus on becoming more intuned with my divine feminine energy & more connected to astrology and all things mystical so my passion for sharing that with other women ignited. I specialize in doing oracle readings & astrology birth chart readings for anybody who feels a calling for guidance, confirmation or just wants to check on their energy and get in alignment. When I started the podcast, I didn’t really know where it was going to take me so I can truly say that it brings me so much joy & love that I have created this space where modern women and young ladies can connect to their inner goddess, connect back to their self-love. I know this is something that is needed because there so much energy going around of the power it is to be a strong independent woman but we lost connection to the power of being a woman who also allows herself to receive and trust her intuition. It’s a balance and what sets me apart is I’m here to show you that there is beauty in the feminine approach to life too & bringing women to their essence. I also have a series I do on Instagram where I post readings for the zodiac signs, whenever we are in a new zodiac season or if there is a full / new moon, I love doing those!

When it comes to spirituality, wellness & a more holistic approach to life, there is this pre-conceived notion of what it looks like, a more bohemian aesthetic or out of touch with modern times but that’s far from the truth. There is no one way that being spiritual or in your divine feminine essence should look like. I personally love the color pink, I love luxurious things but I appreciate mother nature too & I love my herbs and incense, I believe I show that through my branding on Instagram and what I post. I was looking for that for myself but couldn’t find that balance of modern & holistic the way it represented me so I created that for myself and other women that are on the same wave.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I love this question, I have a friend who always tells me I’m like a walking four leaf clover, lol. The way I see luck is more so about the energy that you are putting out into the universe. One of my favorite sayings is your life is only as beautiful as your mindset. That being said, you’re going to attract abundance, more blessings “luck” into your life based on the thoughts your carry and how you approach life. When it comes to myself & my business, I may not be the most successful person you know but I have so much to be grateful for and I have had many of what some people will see as lucky moments because I choose to give that energy & I receive it back.
