Today we’d like to introduce you to Danilo Diez
Hi Danilo, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I first played baseball at 4 years old and excelled and then went to MMA from 6-8 years old and excelled and then Gods destiny was boxing at 9 years old which I actually started in an interaction in a barbershop. It’s been fate ever since. I was actually put to spar a heavy and bigger kid that was 13/15 years old when I was 9 in the middle of the barber shop to show a pro boxer what skill I had. I ended up giving the kid a bloody nose then from there, he said I had potential. I started training in his garage till I ended up training at a P..A.L program. Then later on in life after my excelling amateur career, at 18,19 years old moving to Miami from Cape Coral/ Fort Myers Fl . Moving to Miami to chase my dreams at one of the best boxing gyms in Florida. Sweat Box Boxing gym.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It’s been trials and tribulations till this day! From having to move to a complete new city (Miami), staying away from negativity and people trying to put me down, to finding comfortable affordable places to where to live, to my intense training and discipline, to my parents doing their best to support me everyday while I stay focused on boxing. I’m so blessed that I had these tests from Jesus Christ to only gain me experience and knowledge along the way.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My name is Danilo “Gato” Diez, I am a professional boxer 1-0, I am 21 years old. I am Bolivian and Puerto Rican. One great thing about me is that I’m driven by Christ and I’m unstoppable. Being Bolivian is another great thing about me that sets me apart from others because I will be the first ever Bolivian World champion in history. I love both my bloods and will represent them both to the top. I am God’s warrior and will be the peoples champ. No fear in fighting the best like all the old school champs have done.
I had my professional debut on the undercard of Ryan’s Garcias fight in the Houston Toyota center where the Houston rockets play. I will be fighting in these following mouths again and keep on with my legendary professionl career. I’ve been boxing since I was 9 years old and reached over 100 ameatur fights and ranked #1,#3,#5 in the USA nation, national champion. I have been #1 in the state and region for consecutive years. I’ve trained alongside side many professional champions and have sparred many champions including Gervonta Davis which I was in two of his camps. Boxing is my life and these are only highlights of a young man only growing and bettering everyday as my professional career moves foward.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
My family, being able to spread love and random acts of kindness with my positivity. Being close to God! Inspiring and traveling and enjoying how blessed we are everyday even when it doesn’t seem that way. I may also love food, nature and the beach too, makes me quite happy! Will always be a Florida boy.
