Daily Inspiration: Meet Andrea Gomez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Gomez.

Andrea Gomez

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I was born in Venezuela, I am 21 years old, but I left my country when I was 14 years old due to the situation in the country. I have always considered myself a very mature person (because of everything I have been through), and I never really matched my age. I always knew where I wanted to go. I didn’t know how, but I did know where. I arrived in a new country in 2015. I first migrated to Ecuador. Different dialects, different cultures. After almost three years there, I came to Miami to finish my last two years of High School. New language and many types of cultures to adapt to (nowadays, that’s what I love most about Miami, all the cultures we see here). While I was studying, I also worked full-time.

I remember going in at 7 a.m. and leaving at 2:30 p.m. I would go directly from school to work until midnight. It wasn’t easy, but I knew it was part of the process, and it made him happy. Thanks to that, most of my former employers are now my clients. After two years of working in restaurants (which involved sales), I told myself it was time to take a chance. I started with my best friend, and we founded “Miami Print,” an advertising company (everything related to printing). Our differential was to make things easy and fast. Impressions in 24 hours. I always saw how my bosses took weeks to order simple banners or print. It was a long process, but since I already knew how permits, social media, logistics, and sales worked (from my previous experiences), it made everything a little “easier.”

I have always been a constant person, and I love working. I was always looking to do something I was passionate about and get somewhere. Every time I did a job for a business, my happy face was incredible because I knew how difficult it is to get there, and to be part of that process meant and still means the world to me.

After that, there were moments of frustration because I couldn’t sit still, and I kept seeing things that I could do, but the key is not to do too much at once, but specific things that you are good at and drive 100%. I struggle delegating because I like to serve, but I learned that having a team is the key to moving forward.

After two years, I started university when I saw that my company was stable. I only have a few months to graduate. I study International Relations and politics. People always tell me it has nothing to do with what I currently do, but it does for me. I am passionate about serving, giving, contributing, and making a difference. That career would allow me.

Then I ventured into the world of Real Estate. I always dreamed of having my own house in this country and giving my mother a place. Since I started studying that, too, I could imagine a family’s happy face when I handed over their first home, which inspired me much more.

Today, at 21 years old, I manage my business; I am a Real Estate Agent, I also create content for people who wants to visit Miami, but above all, I am a dedicated and passionate person.

I feel proud to have reached where this is. Each step on this path has resulted from my passion, dedication, and constant desire to learn. I am excited about future opportunities and how I can continue to contribute and improve as a person while continuing to grow and develop as a professional.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth ride. As with any career, I have faced several challenges along the way. Some of the most significant struggles I have encountered are having to grow up very quickly and, at the same time, finding ways to fulfill my dreams, in a different country, with another system.

Competition and Saturated Market: I have faced intense competition and a saturated market in my highly competitive industry. This has led me to look for ways to constantly differentiate myself and stand out. The key to always standing out is to be myself in the most genuine way. That always makes me connect with clients, the public, and friends.

Failures, learnings, and disappointments. My first disappointment was to see that my “friends” or my closest circle were the first to tell me that I was crazy for taking a risk, and at the same time, surprisingly, they were not even my first clients. However, that was another push for me to do things better and better, and then they hired me for the facts rather than from a previous trust. Throughout my career, I have experienced failures and setbacks. Each one of them has been an opportunity to learn and grow. Although they can be daunting at the moment, I have learned to see them as valuable lessons that have helped me hone my skills, strengthen my resilience, and improve my focus as we advance.

Work-life balance: As a passionate professional, I have sometimes struggled to maintain a healthy work-life balance. It has required efficient time management, set clear boundaries, and prioritizing correctly to ensure I maintain a balanced and healthy life. During my early adolescence and youth, one of the things that cost me the most is achieving this balance. Because I’m always working, or my mind is thinking of something new to do or improve while most of the circle of my age enjoyed the moment a little more. I sacrificed a lot of occasions, outings, and events throughout this process, but thanks to it, I always kept my focus, which is easy to do.

Learn from loneliness. I have lived alone since I was 19, and things have been more difficult. I was not having Mom’s hugs when I got home or a hand to hold at the end of a bad day. However, it helped me to get to know myself more and to appreciate my loneliness. Besides, everything has been more bearable Thanks to my 4-legged son, Tommy. Without him, nothing would have been the same.

Despite these struggles, I have learned to approach them as opportunities to grow and overcome obstacles. Each challenge has been a source of learning and allowed me to develop skills and strengths I would not otherwise have acquired. Through determination and resilience, I have overcome these struggles, and they have led me to where I am today, ready to face new challenges and seize new opportunities.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What sets me apart from others is my combination of skills and qualities. My dedication allows me to go the extra mile for your clients, ensuring their needs are met.

My passion drives me to excel in my work and to provide exceptional service. I feel my charisma helps me build strong relationships and connections with my clients and colleagues. My positivity creates a pleasant and uplifting environment, and my transparency fosters trust and honesty in my interactions.

What I am most proud of is that I don’t give up. Even though sometimes an offer can get rejected, or anything that could interfere in the way, I still push to get my client’s best interest because I rather focus on the solution than on the problem. In every aspect, real estate & business!

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
For me, my consistency, my everyday push, my charisma, my heart, and my passion. Everything I do is with all my love and passion, and when you do things from your heart, everything just flows!
