Today we’d like to introduce you to Thee Amazon
Hi Thee, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story begans with young immigrant parents from Haiti, who migrated here in the 80s. I am a product of love born as my mother’s first born and my father’s 6th child to continue his legacy. I was raised in Miami but lived in Haiti as an adolescence from the ages of 7-10. The most crucial, influential and hardest years of my life. At the age of ten, my family relocated back to Miami,Fl. I lived in Miami up until college graduation from FIU. In 8th grade, I was recruited by the Track & Field coach. I was a beast at track & field from a young age. After qualifying in the states championship in high school; I was recruited by the University of Miami team. I spent my freshman year at UM and transferred to FIU for my sophomore year. I excelled so well that by my junior year I was top ten in the country for the Nationals Championship. I went to the 2012 NCAA Nationals Indoor Championship and I placed 11th in the entire United States for the Weight Throw Competition. That same year I broke FIU & my conference record. I still hold the record till this day. After, college I began to dabble in music and content creating. I took a few years off after school to truly find myself. I lived in New York, Baltimore, North Carolina and Atlanta for 5 years. While living in Atlanta I discovered my niche for comedy, creating content and music. Due to Covid-19, I relocated back to my hometown, where my passion for improv, comedy, content creation and music grew immensely. In 2022, I began taking classes at Villain Theater. That is where Amazon was born. After a year of study in the improv world I became a company member at Villain Theater. While at Villain I discovered my passion for stand up comedy!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course not, I suffered from lack of support from friends and family which played a part in my mental health journey today. I have had so many doors closed on me, or opportunities ripped away from my life. I graduated from FIU in 2013 with a BA degree. I have yet to put that degree to use. Everytime I apply for career job that I’m qualified for, I’m asked to provide corresponding work experience. My biggest obstacle in life is getting injured at a track meet my senior year of college. My previous life goal was to compete in the olympics for Haiti and the US. But due to my lower back injury I was forced to resign from Track & Field forever.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in content creating, stand up comedy and improv comedy. I am known as Amazon “The Personality”. My personality is one of one, raw and out of this world. Everyone around me is convinced I will be on TV & Movies real soon. I am a genuine individual, I truly want the best for everyone and anything. I only know how to keep it real!
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
A surprisingly piece a knowledge that most people might now know about me is I like to collect rare artifacts, I enjoy painting and creating artwork.
