Community Highlights: Meet Morgan Fischer of Palm Beach Pole + Aerial Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Fischer.

Morgan Fischer

Hi Morgan, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
After just recently celebrating our 3 year anniversary, I can’t help but reminisce about this time 3 years ago. I was 28 years old starting a business at the end of a global pandemic, pouring all of my savings into a dream that I could turn my passion into a career and share my love for pole with anyone who wanted to be a part of it. My boyfriend (now husband) and I put in long hours every weekend laying flooring, installing poles, and doing literally everything together to make it happen. An exhausting but exciting time.

Quitting my corporate job and launching myself into a very taboo and potentially risky business venture elicited both encouragement from some and concern from others. When I was starting this, someone who doubted me had asked- “What are you gonna do when you’re like 40? Run a pole studio?” And I was like, “Yeah.. Actually, hell yeah! This is my dream!”

Since then, I’ve watched this little 850 sq ft space cultivate a massive, loving community where people find friends and find themselves. Now I associate most of my favorite people with PBP! It’s become the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done with my life besides being a mother. For me, PBP represents authenticity of self, resilience, and freedom to be exactly what I (you) want.

If you’ve ever been here or ever plan to come here, I hope you see it that way too.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I think starting a small business always comes with struggles. Usually, you have to spend some time in the trenches to make big things happen. Palm Beach Pole, like most businesses, has not been immune to obstacles. We had to replace all our flooring in the first year, scramble to fix an overflowing toilet (twice), AC units quit on us in the dead of summer, cancel days of classes during hurricanes – you name it.

Luckily in my case, the highs drastically outweigh the lows.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We specialize pole and aerial fitness with a strong focus on allowing for creative liberties from our students to move in whatever way suits them – whether it’s sporty, artistic, or exotic. Our entire brand and aesthetic is meant to appear as if it’s a blank canvas for you to explore and create.

So many people associate pole with sex and being sensual. While pole does have those origins and still allows for freedom of sexuality, it’s evolved into a vast and diverse industry where sexuality is accompanied by incredible strength and artistry. To quote a student, our space and instruction is not meant for you to “feel the pressure to be sexy. If that’s your goal, then great! But it’s also about creativity and fitness.” Our goal is to encourage authenticity of self.

Whether you book a private party, a drop in class, or a full course, we hope that you feel that freedom of expression here.

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The big drivers for me to start PBP were a need to feel fulfilled professionally and creatively. I couldn’t imagine my life at a desk everyday, bored and uninspired. Pole dance was and still is my outlet for processing and expressing emotions. I think I really took that quote from Steve Jobs to heart: “Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.”
