Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Chase.
Hi Lindsay, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve known I wanted to be a lawyer since third grade. I watched Legally Blonde, and what stuck with me wasn’t just the pink and the humor, it was the moment Elle stood up in court and became the voice for her innocent friend. She was able to see what others missed, speak up when it mattered, and ultimately help exonerate her. That idea of being someone’s advocate, especially when they cannot fully advocate for themselves, really stayed with me.
I was born and raised in South Florida, and I’ve always felt pulled toward standing up for people and fighting for what’s right. I went to the University of Florida for undergrad, then started law school at Nova Southeastern University in 2012, where I really found my voice as an advocate.
In law school, I threw myself into everything I could. I earned several academic awards, competed on the JESSUP International Moot Court Team, and served as president of Toastmasters. Those experiences helped me become confident speaking in front of judges and juries and taught me how to connect with people through clear, powerful communication.
After graduating summa cum laude, I started my career as an Assistant Public Defender in Broward County. That experience shaped me in a big way. I represented people during some of the hardest moments of their lives and learned what it truly means to fight for someone’s freedom. I also had the chance to see the system from different angles through internships and time as a certified legal intern with the State Attorney’s Office, which gave me valuable insight into how cases are built and prosecuted.
Over time, I continued to grow as a trial lawyer and became more involved in the local defense community, eventually serving as President of the Broward Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
Starting my own firm was the natural next step. Today, I focus on criminal defense here in South Florida, and I bring the same passion and personal commitment to every case. For me, it’s always been about standing beside my clients, guiding them through the process, and fighting hard when it matters most.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been a completely smooth road. Like most careers, especially in litigation, there have been moments of growth that came with real challenges.
One of the biggest turning points for me came after I had my first daughter. Becoming a mom shifted my perspective in a powerful way. I loved practicing criminal law and I knew without a doubt that this was the work I was meant to do. But at the same time, the firm I was at no longer felt like the right fit for the life I was building.
That was a hard place to be. I could not imagine practicing any other type of law, but I also knew I needed more flexibility and autonomy if I wanted to show up fully both as a lawyer and as a mother. It forced me to ask some difficult questions about what I wanted my career and my family life to look like.
Ultimately, I realized that if I wanted what was best for me and my family and still pursue my passion for criminal defense, I had to bet on myself. That meant making the scary decision to leave and open my own firm. It was not the easiest path, but it was the right one. Looking back, that leap gave me the ability to build a practice that reflects my values, my commitment to my clients, and the kind of life I want for my family.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Law Office of Lindsay Chase?
I own a boutique criminal defense law firm based in South Florida. We focus exclusively on criminal defense, including serious felony cases, post-conviction litigation, and appeals. What that really means is that we represent people during some of the most overwhelming and life-altering moments they will ever face.
Criminal defense is all I do, and it is what I am deeply passionate about. I am known for being both compassionate with my clients and relentless in the courtroom. I believe you can be empathetic and fierce at the same time. My clients are not case numbers to me. They are people with families, careers, and futures on the line.
Because we are a boutique firm, we are intentionally selective. I am hands-on with every case. From the first strategy meeting to trial, I am personally involved. That level of attention allows us to dig deeper into the facts, challenge the State’s narrative, and build strong, thoughtful defenses. We spend a lot of time on case theory, storytelling, and preparation, because trials are not won by accident. They are won through preparation and clarity.
What sets us apart is the combination of high-level advocacy and personal connection. I have experience as a former public defender and leadership within the criminal defense community, but I also bring a very human approach to the practice. Clients often tell me they feel heard, prepared, and supported throughout the process. That matters to me.
Brand-wise, I am most proud that our firm stands for courage and voice. Everything about the brand reflects standing beside someone when the odds feel stacked against them. I want readers to know that when someone hires our firm, they are not just getting a lawyer to show up in court. They are getting an advocate who will take the time to understand their story, who will fight strategically and passionately, and who truly cares about the outcome.
At the end of the day, our mission is simple: protect our clients’ rights, protect their future, and make sure their voice is heard.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I would also add that I truly believe in redefining what strength looks like in this profession. You can be prepared, polished, and powerful in the courtroom while still leading with empathy and authenticity. I do not think you have to choose between being compassionate and being tough. The best advocates are both.
I also want readers to know that building this firm was about more than starting a business. It was about creating a space where clients feel respected, informed, and empowered. The criminal justice system can be intimidating, and my goal is always to make sure my clients understand what is happening, why it is happening, and what our strategy is moving forward. Knowledge reduces fear.
And finally, I hope people see that it is okay to evolve. My journey has included big leaps of faith, especially in choosing to build a firm that aligns with my values and my family life. Growth is rarely comfortable, but it is often necessary. If my story encourages someone else to trust their instincts and pursue what feels aligned, then that means something to me.
