Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Starting from my early teens, I always knew that I wanted to become an entrepreneur and I always had a love for fashion. I started off as a freelance model in Miami working with different local designers in which I modeled for four years right out of high school. I enjoyed being backstage and having conversations with the makeup artists on set so I decided to pursue makeup artistry once I was done modeling.
I became a self-taught makeup artist in 2012 and I started my own business as a freelance makeup artist, catering to many clients and networking with some amazing photographers. However, I knew that there was more in store for my future and my passion for fashion was going to be my main focus again.
After some time, I decided to combine my love for both fashion and artistry and write about it. In 2014, I shared everything I loved from fashion, beauty and lifestyle tips with the world and created a blog in which www.GabsTheFab.com was born.
Creating my blog was the second coming of my entrepreneurship journey; it was at that moment that I knew that I had a following of people that I can reach. During the pandemic in 2021, I started to do the research, studied other women entrepreneurs and expanded on my vision of starting my own clothing boutique.
Establishing my fashion niche for my brand was easy; I took my love for white sand, the ocean, and my beautiful city of Miami and knew I wanted to present pieces that embodied the presence of a much-needed luxury vacation. On July 9, 2021, my clothing brand RSRT LXE-Resort Luxe went live, and it was the most rewarding thing I have ever accomplished to date. Thru the blood, sweat and tears this journey has taught me so much about myself and how strong I am. With RSRT LXE Resort Luxe, I’m on a mission to bring exotic vacations and luxury fashion on a budget to the forefront. My journey has yet to reach its peak, I’m just getting started.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course not!
I never got into this thinking it was going to be easy, but I still was unprepared for a lot of the obstacles I’ve faced. I will say my most challenging experiences so far has been trying to stay on top of everything being a solo entrepreneur, also being consistent and most importantly not giving up and feeling like a failure if things don’t go as planned.
Humility and determination is key.
I have to keep saying to myself, “How bad do you want this?”

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Be passionate about what you’re doing. Gain as much knowledge as you can.
Stay focused.
Give it your all or nothing at all.
If you can help it start small and gradually grow as your business grows.
Your friends and family may be your biggest supporters or may not support you at all. Remember, it’s a whole world out there of people you don’t know who will patronize your business.
