Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaye Babb.
Shaye, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
Looking back, it’s really cool to see the stepping stones I took to get where I am today. I was always interested in anything artsy & creative. Photography really started to interest me in high school, and I still fall more in love with it every day. After high school, I skipped college to go to a one-year photography school in NYC and started my own business very soon after finishing. I am now 22, and have had my photography business for 3 years, time flies! Waking up every day to do what I love is absolutely a dream come true.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
After what felt like ages, I found my photographic style & niche. I specialize in look book/catalog shoots for fashion brands & also have a passion for creating unique content for their social media. I love working closely with others to really bring their product to life. To me, it’s about telling a story along with conveying emotion through images so the viewer can connect to the brand.
The sterotype of a starving artist scares away many potentially talented artists from pursuing art – any advice or thoughts about how to deal with the financial concerns an aspiring artist might be concerned about?
I have always heard the saying “starving artists,” and “you won’t make any money being an artist.” I have found this to be untrue. I believe if you find your niche and have a strong enough desire to make a living at it, you absolutely can. I do photography full time, and it has been extremely lucrative!

I really love when people comment on my photos & let me know their thoughts. It’s incredible to me that my work really brings pleasure to others. I am all about supporting one another, and love to help motive others to go for their dreams.
