Check Out Aidan Aronin’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Aidan Aronin

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started during COVID-19, I used to be a boxer which I loved, however during COVID-19 I began to realize I would prefer to go to school rather than try to make money fighting. I knew I had the brains for it I just never applied myself to school because I hated it. So upon this realization of COVID, I began to venture out into new sports. It started with cycling, family members had been doing it recreationally for a while and I just wanted to tag along. I wouldn’t say I liked it at first because it was hard and I had trouble clipping into the bike and keeping that balance. After a few more weeks of putting myself into that position, I started to enjoy it. It became less of a workout and more of a mind soother. However, this was short-lived because I need goals in order to continue doing anything. So I set out to ride 1000 miles within a month. I rode about 30 or so miles daily and then on two occasions I set out to complete my first and second-century rides. Both of which proved to be very difficult but I was able to enjoy them, and of course, I got to eat whatever I wanted following these rides. Shortly after completing this goal, I put the bike down set out for something new, and started to run. This was even less enjoyable than cycling but I got it done, and a few weeks later I tried to do a mock triathlon. I had barely swam before but decided it would be a fun feat. It took me around 3.5 hours to complete my first Olympic distance and after that, I put it all behind me and went to college. I attended the university of Oregon my first year, where I tried to complete a bodybuilding prep but I hated it so much because I was already miserable in Oregon and having no food made it worse. I dropped out and transferred the university of Miami the following year and met the Tricanes. After that I was completely hooked and have been able to push myself to where I am today.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it has not been the smoothest road. I think that my biggest problem a lot of the time is I go 110% right off the bat and burn out shortly after. It has been something that has caused a lot of issues for me all around. Thankfully I have been able to maneuver around this and been getting better at easing myself into something so it doesn’t happen. I love what I do now and wouldn’t want to loose it.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am currently a student at the University of Miami Herbert Business School. I studied Real Estate and Finance and would like to get into development. On the side, I am a personal trainer at the school’s wellness center. However, people who know me know I like to go off and train for hours on end. I am most proud of my Ironman 70.3 race in Panama City Beach where I was able to PR and had one of the fastest bike splits on the course. I think that proving to myself that I am capable of doing anything I want makes me proud. I believe that my work ethic sets me apart from others, at my age a lot of people are out partying and while I do love it sometimes I have had to sacrifice most it over the past few years. I think that if something is important to you, you will make time for it and unfortunately I’ve had to give up a lot in order to have time for what I really enjoy doing.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
I think success is subjective and really depends on the person’s life experiences. I have had the opportunity to travel the world and explore at an early age which some people would work their entire lives to do. Once they achieve that they may consider it a success. But I think in my book, success means that I have great and happy relationships with those I love and it also means that I can complete everything I set out to do both now and in the future.
