Check out Antonella Nakfour’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Antonella Nakfour.

Antonella, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I was born in Cabimas, Venezuela. At the age of 10, I moved to Miami, FL with my parents and three younger brothers. I have a very diverse background which has certainly shaped the way I see the world. I studied journalism at Florida International University. My passion for journalism comes hand in hand with my passion to travel and see the world. I believe as a journalist you can develop the power and influence to move around the world and practice what you love. I have been lucky enough to work hard and travel around the world for a bit. Thanks to my diverse background, I speak multiple languages: Spanish, English, Italian, some Arabic and French, which has helped me in my journeys. Recently I had the opportunity to actually work as a reporter and even though it’s for a very small local channel for the City of Coral Gables, it has reinforced the love I have for journalism. I hope to continue to grow and better myself every day.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My art, I define it as every story I cover to show and tell my viewers and readers about the beautiful city of Coral Gables and the world. As a journalist, we love to inform and that in itself is an art. As a traveler and journalist, I enjoy telling the stories of the different places I visit and experience. For me every place has a story and it should be told. I believe that with all the events happening in the world, it’s important to make sure the stories of different countries are told the right way. Through my travel blog, I try to give my readers a look into what I see and experience whether it’s walking through the streets of Marrakech or Beirut, having a cappuccino in a small café in Verona, eating churros at midnight in Madrid or going for a swim in a beach in Mykonos. I hope that through my stories my readers can feel inspired to go on an adventure of their own, with an open heart and an open mind.

What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
My advice to other artists is don’t worry about what people would say, don’t think about failure, just go for it. If it’s something you are passionate about then focus on that. Success won’t happen overnight but it will come based on how much time and work you invest on it. I wish I had started my blog earlier but because of fear and doubts I took longer than what I would have liked but once I did I felt good and continue to work on it day by day.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
People can see my work on my personal website www.TheBlondeMademoiselle.com. The best way people can support my work is by engaging with it and sharing their thoughts and their own adventures. There’s nothing more satisfying than learning from the experience of other’s and if they enjoy any of my stories what best than to share it with friends and family.
