Today we’d like to introduce you to Sadie Leblanc.
Sadie, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
As a child, I fell in love with the art of macrame. Making bracelets and small-scale items through my adolescence. As I grew older, I found ways to apply the skills and knots I had known my whole life into larger and sought-after product. I finished my BA in December 2016 and couldn’t stand the thought of working out of an office. So, I decided to start knotted roots about a year and a half ago. I couldn’t be happier or more astounded at the rate my business has grown and the opportunities that arise when you follow the pursuit of a happy life,
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
An earthy assortment of thoughtfully designed items including Custom Driftwood Art, Macrame & Living Creations. Made by Sadie LeBlanc a native Floridian currently creating in St. Petersburg. Her inspiration is derived from the untouched jungles of old Florida landscapes. The hovering palms residing along winding riverbeds, witnessing endless change. The Cypress roots that have no fear of getting their feet wet. As well as the fallen trunks, weathered by the touch of the ocean and taken to shore. Specialties include plant creations, driftwood art and macramé accents. Custom work available.
Any advice for aspiring or new artists?
Value your work and your time. Even when you’re just starting out you shouldn’t have to make any commitments that don’t feel right. There are tons of opportunities out there just stay positive and find the ones that are right for you. Not every opportunity is right for you and your business.
