Today we’d like to introduce you to Jon Saxx.
Jon Saxx was born in Cincinnati, Ohio and attended college at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He attained a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Manufacturing Engineer and was employed by Cordis Corporation – A Johnson & Johnson Company; He is also an active member of The Fort Lauderdale Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated.
After four years of being an Engineer with Johnson & Johnson, he transitioned into the World Renowned musician that thousands have grown to love. In 2007 the Miami New Times named him the Best of the Best Jazz Artist. Due to this honor, Jon Saxx name quickly spread, and he became the Official Saxophone Player for the Miami Heat and Miami Dolphins collectively.
Witnessing Jon Saxx in his element, whether or not his eyes are hidden underneath one of his trademark hats, his fancy three-piece suits, or his fancy shoes; You realize you’re watching a man possessed by the spirit of jazz, that’s as natural as his own heartbeat.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
My Father gave me this wisdom when I was ten years old:
God didn’t give everybody everything, but he did give everybody something. With that something you can do ANYTHING.
Create the vision and the spend the rest of your life using PURE IMAGINATION & ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES to achieve your goal.
My motto; To Make Music A Reality.
Do you think conditions are generally improving for artists? What more can cities and communities do to improve conditions for artists?
I had to get in the mind frame of an entrepreneur when it came to the business of music. The mythology I learned from Lean Manufacturing helped me develop a strategic Vision Board for success; I have been executing that plan for my BRAND while having fun in the process.
Any career path you choose is going to have its struggles and challenges, its ups and its downs, music is no different. Never let your passion became work, Let Pure Imagination and Endless Possibilities drive Self Mastery.
