Art & Life with Dalia Berlin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dalia Berlin. Her team shared her story with us below.

Please kick things off for us – how did Dalia get to where she is today?
Dalia, a professional licensed interior designer for over 30 years, has found a new voice for her creativity. Born in Madrid, Spain this emerging artist paints with the fury and nobility of bulls. She embraces all her endeavors with an excitement that results in bright, bold, passionate statements.

“When I stare at a blank canvas I never know what it will become, I feel it has its own spirit, and it captivates me. I experience a freeing kind of peace where language fails to express all I wish to share. It’s truly exhilarating to be the vehicle of such flow of energy,” says Dalia.

Her art showings include Art Contest Miami Basel Season, Art Palm Beach, Currents show at Curators Voice art Project~ a Wynwood Gallery, Art Boca Raton, Art Expo NYC 2018, ICFF2018 NYC, and Carousel du Louvre among others. This coming October several of her Menina paintings will be exhibited at La Bienal de Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Berlin’s soul has found a new path in storytelling that truly comes alive in her artwork. Her pieces combine colors that sing and truly come to life in her paintings. Her preferred medium is mixed media, often mixing acrylic and oils over canvas, adding paper and other elements for added dimension. Her unique Meninas collages contain various symbolic collections that include antique stamps, bills, and Spanish press clippings. Each symbol represents something within the piece which is deeply rooted in her native country of Spain. Berlin’s muse comes from her admiration for masters like Velazquez, Goya, Dali, and Picasso among others.

What responsibility, if any, do you think artists have to use their art to help alleviate problems faced by others? Has your art been affected by issues you’ve concerned about?
I feel artists today, more than before, are bombarded by visual imagery that is a strong stimulus to ignore. The web has brought us closer to catastrophic and impactful global events. Now, more than ever, artists paint as a response to those sensorial assaults. Each artist’s passion comes through loud and clear with their many voices from beautiful to grotesque each expressing a primal voice that must be shared.

Further, public art displays have brought art to the streets in such strong force, that everyone is exposed from an early age to art, no longer confining it to the walls of a museum and keeping it just for the connoisseurs. Art is a healing voice that transcends cultures and generations and can and should be experienced by all.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
