For CORVAA, returning to the Electronic Dance Music Awards is both a recognition of her growth and a moment of personal breakthrough. As she prepares for a packed Miami Music Week—including debuting her deeply personal single Behind Our Lies—CORVAA is stepping fully into her authentic sound for the first time. Blending vulnerability with high-energy performance, this chapter marks not just momentum in her career, but a powerful reclaiming of her voice and artistry.
CORVAA, you’ve been invited back to the Electronic Dance Music Awards in Miami—what does it mean to you to return to such a major event in the industry?
It is an honor and a privilege to be invited back to the Electronic Dance Music Awards. It means that people in the entertainment industry are taking notice of my hard work and driven nature as an artist.
The EDMAs bring together some of the biggest names in electronic music. How does being in that environment impact your perspective as an artist and performer?
To be in the energy of such established artists, I feel very fortunate. It makes me want to push even harder with my own original music and performances. To be given a personal invitation back means the organizers feel I belong. That in itself is an accomplishment.
You’ll also be performing four times during Miami Music Week. What can fans expect from your sets, and how are you preparing for such a packed schedule?
You can expect to leave my performances feeling inspired. You will also be able to feel a much more vulnerable side of me. I am preparing for the trip by having a lot of organization. Call times start very early and my days end very late. Grateful to my team for all their support and assistance.
This will be the first time you perform your new single Behind Our Lies live. What inspired the track, and what are you most excited for audiences to experience when they hear it?
Leaving a domestic violence situation is what inspired me to take my latest single from my songwriting team. I am looking forward to people hearing my real singing voice through an entire song. In the almost 13 years of me performing, I’ve never had an original record with my real voice. Majority of my catalog features soft or falsetto technique. Even on Ferrari (which was a previous release) it featured my real voice but only in certain sections. Behind Our Lies captures my real sound throughout and my real sound stems from Classical training not Pop. For a long time, the only way I was allowed to release Dance music was with my “soft” voice. This record is important because I can finally be myself vocally and serves as a healing tool from the domestic violence situation.
Between performing, filming content, and conducting artist interviews, you have a full lineup planned. How are you balancing all these roles while making the most of this opportunity?
I’m balancing everything…by having a lot of Starbucks! Ha ha. I’m a Virgo so there isn’t a day that goes by without a list. My team and I plan on taking advantage of the beautiful surroundings and warm weather. When it’s warm out the opportunities to create content are endless. We want to use every second towards more momentum for my career and my brand overall.
