Meet Patryk Tracz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patryk Tracz.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Patryk. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Hello, my name is Patryk Tracz. My twin brother (Lukasz Tracz) and I moved here as poor immigrants from Poland at the age of 9. We were raised in a little village called Ziebice. We moved to America for the same reasons everyone else does, to search for financial freedom. Lukasz and I were always hard working kids and made sure to surround ourselves with people who wanted more from life than average.

We always either sold CD’s, golf balls, lollipops in middle and high school. But it wasn’t till we went to college where it started to really turn for us. We met a group of friends (Sebastian Solano, David Solano, Paul Campbell) in Tallahassee and started to throw parties. Small parties turned into large parties, that turned into a career. We started a brand called Dayglow, which later became known as Life in Color. Life in Color turned into a worldwide brand. We were doing 100+ shows a year in 20+ Countries, grossing over $20M/year. We grow from five friends throwing parties into an office in Miami with 30+ employees.

In 2012 we sold the company to SFX (publicly-traded company). This is where our lives changed and for the 1st time, we were really able to feel financial freedom. Our festival was nominated as the Best EDM Festival next to names such as Tomorrowland, Ultra Music Festival, EDC.

In 2017, we all decided to move on with our careers for many reasons from the company. My brother and our partners moved to LA to work on a large project (Jeeter – you will soon hear a lot about it), which is rapidly becoming a super success story, we like to call it the next Unicorn. I stayed back and was part of opening a few projects here in Miami. I ran into Rise Nation as I went to go visit my bro in LA. I went to the studio there and was very impressed. 2/3 months later, we had a lease in Miami (Design District). Rise Nation is a cardio class on a climber where you will burn 300-500+ calories in 30min with no impact. Celebrities such as Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Lady Gaga, Bradley Cooper, Miami Heat all love the class. Baby Jane is a cocktail lounge/restaurant in Brickell. We have amazing Ramen food and cool different cocktails. The most recent project, House of Transformation (big shout out to Luis Buron), is a project that I am super excited about. We wanted to bridge the gap where Personal Training is too expensive + people going to the gym, not knowing what they are doing. Our program allows only six people per hour for Personal Training at $25/ session. Since we opened back up after COVID, we have had amazing feedback.

We still have so much more to do, but as I always say “Enjoy the Journey” because the Journey is all we have. 🙂

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s never an easy road. Starting Life in Color, we learned so much! We were young. We did not know to collect invoices, do accounting, and how to properly run a biz. The challenges/obstacles is what it’s all about. This is where you learn how to be better and evolve as individuals.

There were so many struggles that happened to us along the way, we were throwing a paint party and the paint didn’t show up. We had our 18 wheeler truck get into an accident and we lost one of our production directors three nights before a show. We went through an audit when the company went public and that was an experience/challenge in itself. Opening up Rise, there were also so many challenges. I never in my life opened up a brick and mortar place. Never ran a studio before. I had to learn to wake up at 6 am as in my past career, I would go to sleep at 6 am. I would never trade these challenges for anything. It has only made me who I am today

We’d love to hear more about your business.
With Rise Nation, we are the only studio out there that you can burn 500 calories in 30min with 0 impacts. With House, you can get personal training for $25/ session.

What were you like growing up?
Growing up, we grew up poor in Poland. We knew coming here we had to work hard and help the family out. Once we moved here, we always hustled, either sold lollipops + golfballs in elementary school. Music CDs in Middle School + High School.

My brother and I instantly became Miami Heat and Miami Dolphins fans when we moved here in 1994. We are die-hard fans. As far as the Heat, it’s been fun, as far as the Dolphins, I sometimes wish my parents moved to New England.
