Meet Mysterylias

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mysterylias.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Mysterylias. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I came to Miami to study biology, through a twisted series of events and realizations I taught myself to draw and eventually paint after many years of trials and tribulations. Life seemed to have its course set for me and though I tried to resist the river it feels much better to now be in the flow with it.

Art was a deep healing for me that changed my life and I will spend the rest of mine sharing the magic it has given me.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has been a rocky road. It takes a lot of time and willingness to be uncomfortable to change your entire lifestyle and career choice. To start a new hobby or skill takes its toll on the ego, but if you can just see the bigger picture and realize that the best things take dedication and love, the reward is so much greater than a few moments of embarrassment or fear of what others might think.

Please tell us more about your art.
I am an independent artist known for my warping and waving landscapes that contain fractal level details with strange figures and entities, geometry & symbolism, and so many eyes.

I am most proud of the authenticity I feel the work has to me and who I am. It took me a long time to feel like that and it’s all I could ask for.

There are many artists, but few with a true vision. I know what I’m trying to do with art, but to the rest, it can remain a Mystery that will unfold in time. 👁

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is a slippery slope. I think as humans we are all inclined to think success is at the next goal or sale, and when it’s based on material desires we always want more. It perpetuates a cycle that can go on for a lifetime.

For me, success would just mean to be happy. It’s not the easiest thing for me to do, but that’s the long term goal. Share what I love with people in a format that inspires creativity and elevates consciousness.

My greatest success would be convincing even the most oblivious of humans to think deeply about the mystery of this life we have been given.
