Meet Katherine Pereda of The Influencer Grapevine & BLF Communications in Coral Gables

Today we’d like to introduce you to Katherine Pereda.

Katherine, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Ever since I was little, I knew I wanted to work in a creative field; the thought of sitting in a cubicle was my worst nightmare. Starting from my internship days at Cartier (Coral Gables) and Jimmy Choo (New York City), all while attending Florida International University, I was most attracted to Communications, PR, and Marketing as it married my love of building relationships and expressing creativity. Traditionally, a publicist at a couple of Miami based agencies, I started freelancing as a social media manager which snowballed into a full-time position and then eventually into the creation of my full-scale marketing agency, BLF Communications. In the last year, due to market demand and multiple signs from the universe, I have also expanded the influencer marketing branch into our recently launched full-service influencer agency, The Influencer Grapevine, where we serve both influencers and businesses. My coolest clients have ranged from luxury houses (Gucci, Aqua Di Parma, Vacheron Constantin) to beauty, home design, fashion, lifestyle and wellness companies like Maisons Du Monde, Tampax + Always PURE, MintedLeaf CBD, Home Made Simple by Procter & Gamble, and Agnes & Dora. I’ve also worked in experiential marketing for events such as Miami Swim Week, Funkshion Fashion Week, Glossier’s Miami Pop-Up, Create & Cultivate, WantedDesign, and Art Basel Miami.

Has it been a smooth road?
If anyone tells you entrepreneurship is easy or smooth, they have either never tried it or they’re lying. No one successful gets to where they are without a couple of mental breakdowns, at least a night or two of crying themselves to sleep, and multiple cases of questioning all decisions, their future, and their sanity. Thankfully, for me, these challenges are coming fewer and further between. You can learn from job experience how to do client work but what no one teaches you is how to find clients and how to be a good business owner.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into The Influencer Grapevine & BLF Communications story. Tell us more about it.
Because I have such a variety of experience in serving so many different business and industries, I’m not just your average publicist or manager. What feels like random information and skills end up being EXTREMELY helpful and useful in campaigns and strategy meetings. Also, I am a self-proclaimed marketing geek. I love going through active campaigns and analyzing the data to find and optimize what’s working best and cut or kill whatever is not performing. One of my hobbies is actually finding and learning about new tools and tactics to implement into my clients’ marketing strategies. Now, specializing in influencer talent management, campaign ideation & execution, my favorite service to offer is Influencer Relations to help brands gain exposure, make connections, execute collaborations, and build lifelong relationships with influencers.

Do you feel like there are certain traits that increase the likelihood of success?
Determination. Failure is not an option for me. I’ve never given myself the option of thinking that this might not work out for me. It’s just a matter of finding a pivot or direction where I am both happy and prosperous in what I am doing every day.
