Meet Jason Hill of Client Focused Advisors & The Boca Raton Shrimp Tank

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason Hill.

Jason is the CEO/President of Client Focused Advisors, a financial service company with clients based in New York & South Florida. Jason has been featured in multiple publications, such as the Wall Street Journal & Forbes, highlighting his forward-thinking approach that incorporates technology within the advisory space.

Jason has been a host on The Boca Raton Shrimp Tank podcast since early 2018 when he joined The Shrimp Tank podcast network and launched the Boca Raton show in collaboration with the Florida Atlantic University Adams Center For Entrepreneurship. Through The Shrimp Tank podcast, he works with and educates local business owners on running a successful business.

Jason graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Delaware. He was raised in Port Washington, NY and he enjoys boating, sports and the outdoors. Jason currently resides in Parkland, FL with his wife and two children.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not always been a smooth road, along with running the Client Focused Advisors firm and becoming the host of The Boca Raton Shrimp Tank podcast, have come some interesting challenges. One of the most challenging things that many entrepreneurs find themselves faced with is overcoming the idea that you can’t go out on your own. The idea that you need to be apart of a much larger corporation is a comfortable one and was challenging to overcome in order to pursue the creation of his independent financial service firm, Client Focused Advisors.

Other challenges that he has been faced with include finding the right balance in his business to ensure that he placed quality over quantity in terms of the clients he could help and take on. Marketing to a more targeted audience via his websites allowed him to start working with the clients he had hoped to. Part of this solution came in the form of the Shrimp Tank podcast, as connecting and working with local business owners as well as building a network to bounce ideas off of and exchange expertise has been a hopeful byproduct of hosting the podcast.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
As for the work that makes us most proud of our brand, we would say the level of technological expertise and continuous innovation on both the internal and external sides of our business. Both from within our staff, and towards our client relationship practices, we have been able to elevate our practice above those of the last generation through advancing our technological integration throughout the client’s experience working with us. From the moment a client sets up a meeting through our website, receives their confirmation text message, and their follow-up email to recap what was discussed, our clients can count on the service they receive at Client Focused Advisors.

What’s your outlook for the industry over the next 5-10 years?
I can speak for the financial planning/ advising industry in that I project a brief decline in the industry as many of today’s successful financial advisors are nearing retirement age and the younger generation seems slow to take the lead. The newer financial advisors who stay in the industry and individualize their practices through technology and innovation, particularly by creating a smoother and more modern client relationship experience will see the rewards as their businesses grow.
