Meet Jadinah N. S. Gustave, Esquire of The Sejour-Gustave Law Firm in Aventura

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jadinah N. S. Gustave, Esquire.

Jadinah, before we jump into specific questions about your business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was born and raised in Miami, FL. As the youngest child of a Christian pastor, my foundation for all things is the Word of God and family. From the time I was seven years old, I knew I wanted to be an attorney and have made all my decisions educationally and professionally to achieve that goal. In doing so, I attended a Christian law school because I knew I have to be able to incorporate who I am as a Christian into my legal career. From there, I prosecuted and now am the founder of a flourishing and successful law firm. While I was away in college, my husband and I began dating, although we knew each other from birth. Our parents knew each other since they were young adults. His parents attended my father’s church. We were married a year after I graduated from law school. We have a God-centered marriage, which is the basis for all of what we do including, but not limited to, raising our children and running our household. My passion is serving God, my marriage, children, family and ministry. I love to dance, watch sports and learn new things.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It has not been a smooth road, but definitely worth it. I made the decision to change my legal path while in law school from corporate attorney to a civil servant as a prosecutor. This was a difficult, but necessary decision for me to establish my family while still doing what I was called to do, practice law. I also had to make the tough decision at the right time to leave prosecution, which I loved, to raise my children. When it was time to start the law firm, I was conflicted because I felt like I was not ready for the task at hand. It came at a time where my husband and I were still building our home and family. At the beginning of our marriage and my legal career months later, I suffered the loss of my maternal grandmother. That by far was the hardest moment of my life. It has been eight years and I cannot completely process it because of the major role she had in my life. Nevertheless, I have overcome and will continue to grow through all of my experiences.

Please tell us about your business.
I am the founding and managing attorney of the law firm. We practice Business law. Our business law practice includes but is not limited to formation, acquisitions, mergers, contracts and litigation. We also practice Estate Planning, which includes drafting Wills, Trusts, Business Trust, Special Needs trust, guardianship and other matter of asset planning.

Finally, we practice Family Law, including Divorce, Adoptions, Custody matters and other family law matters. We are a law firm that prides ourselves in not only establishing, maintaining, protecting and defending our clients, but we also work to give our clients power over their legal matters. We do this by educating our clients about the process and their rights. It is one thing for us to know how to handle and resolve your legal issue, but we have found that it is even more when the client can explain their case and process which mean that they are in control.

We are a faith-based law firm so that already begins the separation from most firms. Next, we make it our personal responsibility to communicate with our clients on a holistic level because a legal matter is always one issue but there are emotional aspects that always comes into play in every legal matter and we make sure we always address our clients social and emotional concerns regarding their legal matter. Frankly, that is what sets us apart from the rest!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are looking forward to expanding our practice to bring in some new attorneys to continue the SG Law Firm way. We are also looking forward to our partnership with educational institutions to provide an in-house state of the art world class education for our employees’ children so they can work and have access to their children socially and educationally.

We know what it is like to have to commute to work, drop off your children and make life decisions based on the caliber of education that your child receives. We intend to make the SG Law the #1 law firm and education center in South Florida. We will not settle for simple daycare, we want our employees to find college-trained educators for their children as young as six months. There is more to come with our legal foundation as well. We will be traveling the world empowering practitioners and the legal community abroad.
