Today we’d like to introduce you to Daryl Hall.
Daryl, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I had worked within the event service business for many years. I was serving, bartending, and assisting management and watching people plan and execute very important life events like weddings and bar/bat mitzvahs. It can be very stressful. I have always felt the calling of a healer and found this niche as a bridal valet to facilitate ease for the primary players. It puts me in direct contact in a supportive role. I am someone who is focused on the bride or host family exclusively as a personal assistant. It is personal and rewarding to really be an integral part of someone’s journey on an important day.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Dealing with people who are working with deadlines and deep emotions is never smooth. My goal is to be that go-to person that you do not have to feel guilty about asking to do anything. I like to be of service.
Please tell us about At Your Service Bridal Valet.
A bridal valet offers “day of” concierge service dedicated to the needs of the bride, groom and their families for the day (or the host family for a bar or bat mitzvah). I am not a party planner, but I often work with party planners brought in to keep an eye only on the needs of the bride. Or if you are a DIY bride, I can run the party you have planned as a primary contact and troubleshooter the day of the event. I can run rehearsals, liaison with vendors and caterers, bustle your dress, collect gifts, run back to the hotel if you forgot something, and anything else that needs to be done. The position is completely customizable and can include most anything needed to facilitate a smooth event. I am the person you don’t have to feel guilty about asking for help! This way, all of your guests can enjoy the event (and maybe stay out of your hair?), I am an upbeat helper with a resourceful nature for troubleshooting and organization.
I think I can chameleon into any situation and deal well with all types of people and emotions. I am most proud when I can enhance someone’s special day.
If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I would have started sooner. There is a real need for high-end customer service in the event business.
