Meet Candace Holyfield of Six Figure Spa Chick in Northwest

Today we’d like to introduce you to Candace Holyfield.

Candace, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started as a waitress for 13 years. I decided to attend massage school in 2010. My life changed for the good. I was based in my hometown Memphis doing bday and bridal parties. I eventually got my own spa and quickly became successful with marketing on Groupon. I was going to work everyday and my life became very routine. I decided to change up and move to Atlanta after attending a business conference. I didn’t have a plan no family and got flat broke. I created my Instagram page, six-figure spa chick and started traveling to Miami to do massages on the beach and host spa meetups. The first meet up. I only had two guests. I didn’t let that stop me. I kept traveling back and forth for years until people started to know me.

Has it been a smooth road?
I had to build from zero in a new city with no family or money. I love Miami so I just knew my business had to be there. So I kept building. I had to get people to like, know and trust me. I didn’t give up. I feel like so many people give up on their dreams.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
I’m a three time award, winning spa owner. My main headquarters is still located in Memphis. I expanded my spa services and founded a spa marketing firm. I have massaged over 15,000 people and helped over 500 people open up independent spa businesses across the country. We teach marketing and business credit. I’m most proud of the many success stories from my clients. Who went from $2k months to over $20k withing their spa business.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Being a business owner is about getting clients/customers. Miami is a tourist attraction so its great for spa owners. I would suggest Facebook ads for any new business that has the marketing budget. If you don’t have the marketing budget, I suggest using Instagram. It’s a great free tool to get new clients.
