Meet Amanda Paez

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda Paez.

Amanda, before we jump into specific questions about your work, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Well, from a young age, I have always had a niche you can say for children. At 13, I was a certified babysitter haha I have always just found it natural/easy. I then decided I wanted to try out teaching preschool see how I felt about it before jumping in and going to school. So at 18, I had my first assistant teaching job and had the best teacher to guide me. I learned so much and I thank you, Mrs. Cecelia. I then really enjoyed that age. The crucial development of a child is in the first five years. I believe, the most crucial year is pre-kindergarten from four to five. At these ages, you are setting up their foundation for school and life. It’s like the story of the three little pigs. The first pig that made his house out of straw, and didn’t have a strong foundation. As a result of this, the house blew down. Then, you have the pig that made his out of bricks. A solid foundation and so the wolf could not get in. It’s the same for people. Guiding children to want to learn at an early age so they enjoy doing so throughout their life. Because let’s face it, it’s only begun! Help give them the most important and basic skills in life that are slowly slipping away such as manners, how to focus (because iPads are taking over), converse, self-worth, confidence, and most importantly a safe environment. Then, implementing structure and academics. This is an age that I consider my passion and finally decided to take a chance to change my life!

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
A smooth road… what’s that!?! Many bumps, trials and tribulations. But you can’t give up, believing in myself, my value and worth. Appreciating all the amazing people that support me and love me as I get to do what I enjoy every day. I believe true passion is something that cannot be taught. It’s a gift from within you.

Please tell us about your work.
Interesting story actually! I worked in a Russian school for five years and was able to teach how I wanted. With freedom to put my craft at work. It was fantastic! I built up clientele, people hearing about my class and word-of-mouth is the best communication. It’s what yelp and reviews are all about. I then started private and group class tutoring which had great success! That then became word-of-mouth and after a while, I wanted to go further, try something new and add more value. I hit a bump in the road, my father past away only minutes after giving my two weeks. Wow is right. I took sometime to regroup and had the chance last year to reverse tolls and primarily tutor while teach on the side and here we are!

So, what’s next? Any big plans?

I am looking to continue to add more exposure to my tutoring company- Teach Inspire Transform and help educate! Helping to give other educators the opportunity to help guide our future. Allow and I believe everything will work itself out, one day at a time. And remember to keep the one thing, the MAIN thing the thing to remember. The reason why you started and always gratitude.
