Community Highlights: Meet Andres Hoyos

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andres Hoyos. Them and their team share their story with us below:

To Andres Hoyos, nothing and everything sets his company apart from his competition. “We are building a one-of-a-kind real estate boutique brokerage, with genuine, down-to-earth individuals, where ego has no place within our organization. “We are real and passionate professionals.”

The founder and CEO of Sync Brokerage, Hoyos’ own story resonates with his company mantra. An immigrant from Colombia, he arrived in Los Angeles 20 years ago, not knowing English and being in a completely different environment and culture.

“I came from a humble family with values, tenacity and dreams. I used to cook at a restaurant and deliver pizza, then I entered the real estate world from the bottom, worked long days, drove long distances, and put in many hours without making a dime. At first, I was motivated by the endless opportunities I saw that seemed invisible to others. Today I am motivated by my wife and two daughters. They are my fuel for living with passion and with a purpose to change people’s lives.”

The company, a full-service, technology-driven brokerage, has offices in Woodland Hills, Studio City, Beverly Hills and recently expanded to Miami. Hoyos credits his business’ success to a strong family culture, cutting-edge technology, support, and a creative office vibe both for agents and customers.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, many people doubted me and the ability of me being able to build the company I have now, for lack of financial back-up, lack of connections, no name recognition, a new startup, and well me coming from nothing, going against the odds. Then once you start, you encounter yourself with challenges every day, challenges that have to be with people, money, the industry, things not going your way and always barriers on your way, which you need to get creative to find ways to overcome them.

Also, once your company represents a treat to others brokers, a few of them tried to slow you down or take you out of the business by suing you with no real reason. The struggle never ends, it becomes part of your journey of building a company that soon will be nationwide. You have to be very strong mentally, emotionally and always be willing to continue moving forward with faith in God, believing in your dreams, knowing that as long as you put the hard work, there will always be a solution or a way. To become a successful entrepreneur you have to be relentless, have non-negotiable, and be willing to make the sacrifices average people won’t make, in order to make a difference and impact other people’s lives, inspiring and helping other becoming part of your growth.

Sync Brokerage is a Technology-Driven Real Estate Brokerage. A boutique Real Estate firm with offices in Los Angeles and Miami, specializing in various Real Estate markets, including Luxury and Commercial Real Estate. Sync believes the real estate brokerage model and the industry as a whole are at an inflection point. Sync has a hybrid business model with some of the coolest technology and marketing tools, empowering Real Estate professionals in their exponential growth and success.

Sync Brokerage is simply a Real Estate brokerage built by agents for the agents. The main principle of Sync Brokerage is having fun, enjoying what we do for a living while building sustainable growth. Our culture represents transparency, equality, with an environment that encourages inclusiveness, promotes innovation, and respect from management to the staff members to the agents. We value agent’s opinions and observations and promote an open-door policy. We assess their feedback and when it aligns with our vision, we seek ways to implement them. This goes to the constant improvement of our services and tech.

As the founder and CEO, I am actively involved with our day-to-day operations, and my #1 retention strategy is meaningful time with our agents. This includes but is not limited to regular 1:1, business coaching and mentorship. This is the same requirement for the managing partners and executive members. As we grow, it’s imperative we don’t lose the core values of what makes our company unique, strong, and attractive to those agents from other brokerages. We are not corporate.

We designed our offices in ways that promoting good energy, encouraging overall care to health, family, and self; all values that impact a person, not just an Agent. Sync members embrace happiness, they can visualize and pursue prosperity. Everyone at Sync feels ownership of the culture because at the end of the day, our company is growing thanks to everyone’s efforts and the loyalty of our sync associates.
