Rising Stars: Meet Nicole Casanova of Miami

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Casanova.

Hi Nicole, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I began dancing at four years old at L’Ecole de Ballet Arts Studio and continued training throughout Miami, studying all styles of dance. Over the past 20+ years, I’ve worked as an instructor and director, leading both recreational and competitive programs and mentoring dancers who have gone on to succeed on regional and national stages.
Opening The Core Dance Center was a natural evolution of that journey. I wanted to create a space that balances strong technical training with heart — a place where dancers feel challenged, supported, and truly at home.
One of my greatest driving forces has been my three daughters. Their strength and love have inspired me to build something meaningful — not just a studio, but a community rooted in passion, discipline, and family.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Building a studio from the ground up comes with financial risks, long hours, and a lot of responsibility. Balancing motherhood with entrepreneurship has also been one of my biggest challenges.
There have been moments of doubt, but every obstacle strengthened my resilience and clarified my vision. Those struggles helped shape The Core into the strong, supportive community it is today.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At The Core Dance Center, I lead recreational and competitive programs for dancers ages 3–18. I specialize in developing strong, versatile dancers while building their confidence, discipline, and stage presence.
My focus is balancing high standards with a supportive, family-oriented environment. While we train to compete and succeed, we prioritize character and personal growth just as much.
What I’m most proud of is watching my dancers grow into confident young women both on and off the stage. What sets us apart is our culture — we’re not just a studio, we’re a community.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Resilience. Building and leading a studio requires consistency, adaptability, and the ability to push forward even during challenging seasons. I’ve learned to stay grounded in my vision while being flexible enough to grow and evolve.
That resilience — paired with passion — has been the foundation of my success.
