Today we’d like to introduce you to Keisha Cineus.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I am a Pro Makeup artist of 9 years. I come from beautician parents, my mother is a licensed hairstylist for a little over 24 years. My father is a licensed barber as well for about the same time. I was always seeing people leaving the salon looking and feeling good.
I started out doing hair just like my mother but I learned that it was not something I was passionate about. I got deep into makeup in high school watching my older cousins and mom get ready for events or nights out. Watching them apply all sorts of products grasped my attention.
I started in my mom’s salon in 2016 practicing not only on myself but other friends and family. I’ve met countless people from celebrities to regular everyday people. To say I love what I do is an understatement. Makeup is what keeps me going. My clients have become a big part of my heart from new to old loyal clients.
My chair isn’t just getting beat and leaving we create bonds and lasting relationships I’ve created a safe space and a vibe for my clients to feel beautiful before and after. I always say I can’t wait to see how far I’ve become in 5 years. Looking back 5 years ago, 22-year-old me would be so proud. A 17-year-old me would be in utter shock. We are just getting started and my city will always remember Keisha The MUA.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No journey is ever easy or smooth. I’ve faced many challenges from people doubting me, even though I’ve doubted myself. I’ve had doors close in my face and told no your not touching my face, she’s not good enough /all that, etc. Being told that you won’t be successful at something can be all the fuel you need sometimes just to go harder.

I am a full-time professional Makeup Artist.
