Inspiring Conversations with Pascal Okoh of Sandbox Kids LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Pascal Okoh.

Hi Pascal, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m Pascal Okoh Jr, also known as DirectedByJunior. My journey into content really came from just being curious and wanting to document what was around me. I officially started in 2022 when I dropped my first YouTube video, but even before that I always had an eye for moments, culture, and storytelling.
Growing up in Broward County shaped a lot of my perspective. I felt like there were so many stories, businesses, and everyday experiences in South Florida that were not really being highlighted the right way. Once I picked up the camera, I made it a point to focus on real environments and real people.
From there I just stayed consistent. Video by video, the audience started to grow across TikTok, and Instagram. What started as me experimenting turned into building a real community that now reaches millions of views and a lot of people. At the same time, I was sharpening my skills academically at Florida Atlantic University studying Multimedia Studies and Communication, which helped me understand both the creative and technical side of storytelling.
Right now I’m still in building mode. DirectedByJunior to me is about documenting the culture, uplifting local spots, and creating content that feels authentic to South Florida. I know I still have a long way to go, but I’m focused on continuing to grow, improve my craft, and create work that people can genuinely connect and relate to.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. Behind the content and the growth, there were a lot of moments where things felt uncertain and heavy.

Growing up, I experienced the loss of several friends, which really changes your perspective on life at a young age. Those moments stayed with me and honestly became part of what drives me today. They made me realize how short life can be and why it is important to actually go after what you feel called to do.

On top of that, I did not always have full support from my family in the beginning. Coming from a Nigerian background, there was a strong focus on more traditional career paths, so content creation and filmmaking did not always feel understood or approved of early on. That created some internal pressure because I was trying to honor where I come from while also chasing something that was not the typical route.

There was also a point in college where I genuinely did not know what direction I wanted to take in life. I was figuring things out in real time, trying different ideas, second guessing myself, and wondering if any of it would actually work.

But looking back, those struggles really shaped me. They built resilience, sharpened my focus, and made me take my craft more seriously. The road was not smooth, but every obstacle pushed me closer to being clear about my purpose and the path I am on now.

We’ve been impressed with Sandbox Kids LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Sandbox Kids is the production company I am currently building with a clear purpose. It is all about creating a platform where talent can actually be seen and heard. Through my journey as DirectedByJunior, I kept noticing the same issue in South Florida. There are so many talented creators, musicians, athletes, film makers, clothing brands, etc. but a lot of them struggle with marketing themselves or getting real exposure.
Sandbox Kids is my answer to that gap. What we do is provide creative production, visual storytelling, and strategic content support that helps people put their skills on the forefront. Whether it is shooting high quality visuals, helping shape their brand story, or simply giving them a spotlight moment, the goal is to help raw talent turn into visible opportunity.
What sets us apart is that we are deeply rooted in the culture we are documenting. This is not just business for us. I come from the same communities I am highlighting, so the approach is very hands on and authentic. We understand the energy of South Florida and how to present it in a way that actually connects with audiences online.
Brand wise, what I am most proud of is the mission behind Sandbox Kids. It is bigger than just content. It is about access, visibility, and community. I want readers to know that if you have talent but feel overlooked, Sandbox Kids is being built as a space where your work can be taken seriously and pushed to the next level. We are still growing, but the vision is clear. Give the overlooked a real platform and help South Florida talent shine the way it is supposed to.

So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
The best way to work with me is to tap in on Instagram or TikTok. I try my best to respond and connect with people who are serious about what they are building.
