Today we’d like to introduce you to Camila Perez.
Camila, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I started my career back in 2002 in Brazil. As an esthetician and massage therapist, I got introduced to Manual Lymphatic Drainage at the school, I immediately fell in love with MLD, and the multiple benefits for various population, and since then, I’ve studied many techniques always related to the Lymphatic System. When moving to the US in 2012, I couldn’t find therapists in Miami that perform a technique similar to mine, then I saw an opportunity.
In the beginning, my clients were Brazilians that, like me, were missing it!
With word of mouth and social media, my practice became widespread among Americans, including celebrities…
Today, alongside my family, my daughter Lais is also a therapist; we have three spa locations, including Miami, Los Angeles, and New York.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all. I was bringing something new, nowadays, Lymphatic Drainage is trending, but back then, very few people used to know about it…
I barely speak English at the time and starting my business at almost 40 years old.
And it’s never easy, every day is a new challenge!

Mova means “move” in Portuguese, and helping our clients to keep the flow since the Lymphatic System is called “the river of life“ in Ayurveda, is our mission. We have 20 years of experience and a team, right now of 11 women that shares the same passion!
We are educating people on Lymphatic health and bringing to our clients all the benefits MHD can offer to health, wellness, and beauty.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I‘ve seen a massive development in the industry in the past five years; being one of the pioneers of the “Brazilian” technique, I can say I have made a small contribution to Lymphatic awareness in the US, and I am so happy to see a change in the market. I think there is no going back; the tendency is for the market to grow significantly over the years.
